A high school soccer player went viral for all the wrong reasons, kicking and repeatedly punching his opponent in the head on Friday, resulting in calls for a lifetime ban.

He wasn’t. He’s obviously got serious anger management/emotional disturbances. Whether he gets a lifetime ban is not the question. The question is can the adults intervene in this kid’s life so he doesn’t hurt anyone or worse when he grows up.

Excellent point. This goes far beyond actions on a soccer field. If a minor thing like that sets him off imagine without help what he will be as he gets older.

Makes you wonder, where are his parent?. This kid needs serious help!

Thinking his home life plays a part in this. Recall the NJ HS wrestler who with his father went up in the stands and fought fans.

Have to think this isn’t the first time something like this has happened with this kid. He obviously needs help & shouldn’t be anywhere near a competitive soccer field.

All good points. That play is inexcusable....could have ended up with a fractured skull getting kicked and punched like that.

Not defending this kid at all, but was there something else that may have precipitated his response from earlier in the game or if the other player had said something derogatory. The good news with video is that it's proof of the act, but sometimes there are missing pieces that lead to the act.
