Absolutely. It’s amazing. Now we’re taking about what happens if HC Schiano wins 10 games this year or the near future? And coaching options available and making a hire if HC Schiano is poached away?
Thank god the season starts tomorrow.

He hasn't raised the bar, not yet anyway. His fans have.love that moving target. I like the fact GS has raised the bar. 8 wins and it’s a we’ll see approach![]()
Plenty of schools would go for other options…he’d need sustained success to suddenly be on short lists…plenty of schools that can write bigger checks than RU.
The stadium staying full for the whole game instead of half of the fans leaving in disgust early in the third quarter would be a sign of progress. There are results. We should have a close to full stadium Sunday.
actually the bar has been raised by the instant gratification crowd. He hasn't raised the bar, not yet anyway. His fans have.
"Instant gratification." 4 years is instant if you're a redwood. It's long enough for freshmen to play their entire career.actually the bar has been raised by the instant gratification crowd.
Building a program takes time sometimes at schools with poor reputations ,
but there are those that want it now and claim it can be done faster
refusing to face the fact building some programs are not an easy thging to do within 3 years.
Even if they made a bowl in year 2.
But every HC faces that when part of the fanbase didn't want that HC to be hired
Schiano faces that problem and needs to prove he can do in the G2 era what he did as G1
this 2023 is the beginning of 4th year log that in your memory."Instant gratification." 4 years is instant if you're a redwood. It's long enough for freshmen to play their entire career.
PRIME says hi.Building a quick winner? Who can do that? Plenty of programs that are looking for a program builder with a track record. You can say he is not the guy that takes a 9 win team to the playoffs. But there are more teams out there that are trying to dig out of the cellar.
"Expects to see an Alabama type program quickly." Where in the name of God do you see anyone remotely expecting this?? I see people wishing we had a functional offense after 4 years, a team that doesn't get obliterated every single time it plays Ohio State, Penn State et al. Our fans are actually reasonable. It's Schiano's Excuse Makers that are unreasonable. You seriously need to stand down. Your perceptions of what people want are extremely warped.this 2023 is the beginning of 4th year log that in your memory.
Instant gratification doesn't take into account how the program has been precived as a loser and expects to see an Alabama type program quickly and refuses to look for positives starting to show throug the losing cracks.
Year 2 was a positive , year3 regressed.
Year 4 is when more competitiveness needs to show more in order for fanbase to feel progress is being made
Exactly. All I want is a functional offense. Still waiting. Better be this year."Expects to see an Alabama type program quickly." Where in the name of God do you see anyone remotely expecting this?? Remember GS 1st game back. I’m not sure how everyone is determining there won’t be demand if he wins 6 or more games.PRIME says hi.
BTW, I'm not dissing Greg. I like him a lot as a coach. Just repeating don't think there will be a high demand for him that would justify a raise when he has a guaranteed $16 million after this year.
It would be the worst think the AD could do, he can’t go back to the NFL as HC. He has a tremendous contract for the amount of interest that was surrounding him. Let him fulfill this contract then see where you go.He's already got 4 more years. Why would the AD give him even more time and money for a 6 win season? Is there a danger that he'd be snapped up by another program for a 6 win season? You guys are unbelievably deluded about his market value as a HC.

1st game back? Explain what you mean.Remember GS 1st game back. I’m not sure how everyone is determining there won’t be demand if he wins 6 or more games.

I think he means Greg beat MSU 38-27. It did not go so great after that, especially the next 2 seasons.1st game back? Explain what you mean.
Wow I was hoping for a better explanation.I think he means Greg beat MSU 38-27. It did not go so great after that, especially the next 2 seasons.
People feting Prime (including me, the hypocrite!!) need to pump the brakes.
actually you're more than likly right about the interest he was receiving from P-5 programs as their HC and maYby most G-5sIt would be the worst think the AD could do, he can’t go back to the NFL as HC. He has a tremendous contract for the amount of interest that was surrounding him. Let him fulfill this contract then see where you go.
yes,No one at any time in the P5 gets 4+ years to turn a program into a decent team- meaning- a winner. We sit in a place and conference that should allow it even quicker.
I have seen G5 teams doing better.
Ash- drove us to the ground. Greg came in and his name alone wiped out Ash. The AD then gave him the money for coaches/facilities- more than what many coaches get.
Greg is the name in NJ football- it should have meant more to HS coaches but it hasn't. NIL has made it harder but he has the resources at this point to show a turn. That is what I look for- show the turn.
It is a good question. And I never expected GS to turn things around day 1. On the other hand- until Ash crash and burned tge program, I didn’t want GS back but when hired, he was a great choice and it also seemed he became better.yes,
even the way Rutgers has been looked on as a loser most of it's non Sciano time, you feel as bad as the program he inherited from Ash, how the program probably was looked at as a place to stay away from by the better HS talent
you still feel Schiano's 3 years not winning is showing he isn't up to building a winner .
Do you feel my thinking the 5-7 record in his 2nd year shows he can get it done and the regression in 3rd year might just bot be proof of incompetence.
Lat go-round the 4th year shown progress and that's what I expect now.
Some think I'm whistling in the wind thinking that .
Do you feel Schiano's 3rd year should have vbeen a winning one, or am I taking what you posted the wrong way
I think he did find one in AJ Surace. Yes, it is a hopeful speculation at this point, but I really like this kid.Find, would have been a better choice of words
Bingo-Conversely, how much does he have to give back if he wins 3 games?
