This should be the easiest conf game of the year. Back home, after getting embarassed, against one of the worst teams in the league. If you can’t win this one…sha should be in trouble

Seton Hall can win this game, but the trends point the other way. Several X players can put up 15-20 points. If AJ and Simpkins can score, then it could go either way. Hall not playing well at home and the crowd may or may not be engaged. AJ 3 for last 17 on his three-point shots. Simpkins has 45 combined points in last three road games. He has 6 combined points in last three home games?? Is this the wake-up call game???

Carroll and Messina-Moore are two guys who have been scoring the hell out of the ball. They definitely did not come into the season with that type of pedigree given where they've played in the past. Maybe they are just emerging as final year players, as we've seen before, or Little Rick has been able to unlock something in them that wasn't there before. But more likely IMO is that they have been playing offensively way, way over their head as of late. Which means a regression is long overdue. Hence I think we pull this one out 72-61.

Seton Hall -10. (Just joking)

Seton Hall 75
Xavier 68.
I dont think we match up well against them but if we play faster and get to the rim aggressively, we should win. But a lot will depend on how it's officiated...

Xavier at home - just what the doctor ordered. Big letdown spot for X after taking St. John's to the wire on Saturday. This is a Quad 3 win Seton Hall has to have and Seton Hall does come in with a 9-0 record in Quads 3-4. Big second half for the Hall as they win going away.

Xavier and Seton Hall play completely different styles.

X has a lot of offensively versatile players. They play a very fast style with crisp passing, strong 3-pt shooting and they value each possession with just a 13% Turnover Rate which is 11th nationally. They are #2 in the Nation in Assists per FG Attempted and 45th in 3pt shooting at 36.7%. Just about every player in their rotation is a threat from 3 except for 1 backup Big. They have a lot of Team & Positional Height but they play a 5-out, finesse style that looks for 3s. They don't get to the Foul Line often, they don't shoot well in the Paint or on 2's in general. Despite their height and starting 3 guys 6'8 to 6'10", they get blocked a lot and are not good at offensive rebounding.

Their offense can light it up. In their last 4 games they have averaged 90.5 points per game including 2 tight losses to Creighton and St.Johns. They have had trouble winning close games with their last 3 losses being by a combined 7 points.

Defensively, they are not very good. They can be exposed in the Paint and allow 53.7% FG% on 2's. They are a good defensive rebounding team.

We can't let them go off from 3. And we have to figure out our offense to get some points of our own. We've only broken 66 once in the last 6 games. We need to win the Free Throw battle....get there more and convert. And we need to crush them in Paint Points. My gut says Xavier will win but my heart says we find a way to win a close one, 73-71 SH.

Hoping we can once again look like the team that started the season 14-2. Seton Hall takes out their frustrations on X.
SHU 72-57
In the first half who would have thunk it that this would be the runaway winner.
