Zac has been mentioned in some early SMU AD candidate lists.

Does this seem a serious threat?

I recall his name came up on a job or two last year.

Are we headed toward a annual Mullen - type situation?

He has completely screwed up our financial situation so bad that he has to get out somehow. Whoever comes in here after him has a tremendous mess to clean up. All of our cash reserves have been spent. His motto is borrowing money and using leverage. That makes no sense, especially when rates are still high

He's raised big money and spent big money. Sounds like a solid job to me troll.

When you spend more than you raise, and when you deplete your cash reserves, you are operating at a deficit.
So go ahead and call me a troll
our media members are too scared to ask questions and also scared to point out what is going on for fear that their media credentials will be pulled. There is a reason why he is interviewing for every single job. He knows that this is about to blow up.

Anyone that wants to spend tens of millions of dollars on a. IPF in 2025 probably doesn’t have a ton of sense

I’ve never responded to these threads but I must : Selmon has never missed a free throw, or an open 3. Selmon hasnt wiffed on blocks or thrown picks. He hasn’t struck out looking on a ball down the middle nor has he ever over thrown the first baseman, let alone the free passes and hit batsmen.

what he has done, re energized our donations and our place amongst NIL in the hardest, most competitive league in all of college sports. I don’t get the hate, I actually think most are trolls but to put the inconsistency of some of our assets on the AD across all sports, well it’s childish, trollish and frankly ludicrous. Let him cook a few more years. I don’t think people realize the despairing department he took over.

You must be drunk or something. Selmon has done little to generate excitement since he got here. He was tone deaf in his interviews. His playbook is limited and he spams the same cliches about money being an issue over and over like a video game. He was brought in and is learning on the job. Once he gets his training wheels off, he will be off to a new job.

If he is so bad, why is he such a hot topic amongst up and coming money programs? You must be smarter than the money guys. Have you considered applying for the AD job?

Every time I've hear Selmon speak to the alumni/fans, I get the impression he is really worried about covering the cost of revenue share.

Do we just not have the funds? I have no idea. I'm sure he has a good idea.
I suspect that he is genuinely worried, but in fairness, I think he’s far from the only AD in that spot

We’ve been operating as a not for profit entity for decades where for the most part, we’ve been spending what we’ve brought in, and now all of a sudden ADs have to come up with $20M to pay these kids. There aren’t many schools that have that laying around, and it’s going to require some hard decisions about staffing, sports that we’re offering, and facility investment.
