USC offensive tackle Michael Tarquin announced his intention to enter the transfer portal for a second time on Saturday, and it didn’t take long for a familiar program to reach out.

According to Tarquin, he was offered again by Florida, where he suited up for four years before transferring to USC.

“Excited to be offered by The University of Florida again,” Tarquin wrote.

Tarquin entered the NCAA transfer portal following the 2022 season at Florida. He started 10 games while at Florida, appearing in a total of 31 games for the Gators.

Florida’s offensive line was hit hard by transfers following the 2022 season, and the Gators struggled on the offensive line during the 2023 campaign. Naturally, with a need at tackle, Florida figured it would kick the tires on Tarquin again.

Tarquin started eight games for USC this fall. He entered the transfer portal as a graduate transfer this time around.

Whether he entertains the idea of heading all the way back to the East coast and Florida remains to be seen, but it’s not every day you see a program re-offer a player that transferred out of the program, making Saturday’s revelation fairly newsworthy.

Michael Tarquin previously played at Citra High School in North Marion, Florida, where he was a four-star recruit, according to the On3 Industry Rankings. He was also rated the No. 323 overall player and No. 30 offensive tackle in his cycle.
