Heisman Trophy Odds: Ranking betting favorites after pivotal Week 14 of College Football

by: Alex Byington12 hours ago_AlexByington

With the conclusion of Week 14 of the regular season, the 2025 college football season formally pivots to the postseason, beginning with conference championship games this upcoming weekend. And with that comes award season, including a 2025 Heisman Trophy race that is nearing the finish line ahead of next weekend’s award ceremony in New York City.

But before that, BetMGM overhauled its latest betting odds, revealing the three overwhelming favorites to earn finalist invites to NYC next week — Ohio State QB Julian Sayin, Vanderbilt QB Diego Pavia and Indiana QB Fernando Mendoza. All three have +175 or better odds to win college football’s most prestigious individual award, showing the Heisman still remains up for grabs.

Of course, since Pavia and Vanderbilt don’t have any more games to play before the final ballots are cast this weekend, this year’s Heisman race could come down to which quarterback shines brightest in Saturday’s Big Ten Championship game in Indianapolis. In the meantime, check out BetMGM’s latest Heisman Trophy odds below:

1. Julian Sayin, QB, Ohio State — +150

The Buckeyes’ redshirt freshman quarterback has more than lived up to his billing as a Five-Star Plus+ recruit in 2024 while guiding No. 1 Ohio State to a perfect 12-0 regular season. That includes directing the Buckeyes to a 27-9 win over rival Michigan to snap a four-game losing streak in The Game.

Sayin currently leads the nation in mulitple passing categories, including a NCAA-best 78.9 completion percentage and 184.84 quarterback rating, to go along with 30 touchdowns and 3,065 passing yards in his first season as Ohio State’s starting quarterback.

2. Diego Pavia, QB, Vanderbilt — +170

Pavia, the Commodores’ emotional sparkplug, remains one of the best stories in college football in his second season in Nashville, guiding 13th-ranked Vanderbilt to its first-ever 10-win season and on the College Football Playoff bubble, even if its unlikely to make the final 12-team field.

The dual-threat Pavia ranks second nationally and leads the SEC with 4,018 yards of total offense and 36 total touchdowns this season. That includes a SEC-best 27 passing scores, 71.2-percent passing and 171.54 quarterback rating to go along with 3,192 passing yards and 826 rushing yards.

3. Fernando Mendoza, QB, Indiana — +175

After leading much of the season, Mendoza fell from betting favorite to third following the conclusion of the regular season. Of course, that just means the Hoosiers’ junior QB needs to show out Saturday in Indianapolis to reassert his status as the Heisman favorite.

In his first season in Bloomington, Mendoza leads the nation with 32 passing touchdowns and ranks second nationally with a 183.7 quarterback rating — just behind Sayin — to go along with 2,758 passing yards on 72-percent passing this season.

4. Jeremiyah Love, RB, Notre Dame — +2000

A home run threat anytime he touches the ball, the Fighting Irish’s junior running back is a major reason for Notre Dame’s regular season turnaround after an 0-2 start, sparking the Irish’s 10-game win streak with six 100-yard rushing games during that span.

Love ranks third nationally with 18 rushing touchdowns and fifth in the FBS with 1,372 rushing yards on 199 carries while spliting reps with fellow Notre Dame backfield ‘mate Jadarian Price, who has 674 yards and 11 scores on 113 carries himself.

5. Jeremiah Smith, WR, Ohio State — +17,500

Ohio State’s explosive 2025 offense has two players in the Top 5 in the Heisman Trophy race, with its superstar sophomore wideout providing a big-play opportunity anytime he touches the ball.

Smith is tied for the Big Ten lead with 11 receiving scores this season, and ranks second with 72 receptions and third in the league with 942 receiving yards on the year.

6. Gunner Stockton, QB, Georgia — +25,000

The first-year Bulldogs starter is set to start his first career SEC Championship game after entering in relief last season before leading Georgia to an overtime victory over Texas. This year he’ll look to enact revenge against No. 10 Alabama, which knocked off UGA 24-21 in Athens earlier this season.

While not exactly a statsheet-stuffer, Stockton ranks second in the SEC with a 70.2 completion percentage to go along with 2,525 passing yards and 28 total touchdowns — including eight rushing — to just five interceptions on the season.

7. Jacob Rodriguez, LB, Texas Tech — +25,000

The rare and lone defensive player in the Heisman Trophy mix, the Red Raiders senior linebacker has done it all for No. 4 Texas Tech, including scoring rushing touchdowns out of the Wildcat in back-to-back games to end the regular season.

That’s in addition to scoring a fumble return for a touchdown against Oklahoma State. Ahead of Saturday’s Big 12 title game, Rodriguez ranks third in the league with 104 total tackles, 10 tackles for loss and four interceptions.

8. Ty Simpson, QB, Alabama — +40,000

Another first-year starting QB, Simpson has been among the most efficient passers in the SEC this season while leading the 10th-ranked Crimson Tide back to the SEC Championship game in Atlanta.

Simpson finished the regular season ranking second in the SEC with 25 passing touchdowns to just four interceptions to go along with 3,056 yards to rank third in the league on 65.8-percent passing.

9. Dante Moore, QB, Oregon — +50,000

The Ducks’ redshirt sophomore quarterback has fallen down the list after spending the first-half of the regular season as a Heisman favorite, but not for a lack of production.

Moore finished the regular season ranked second in the Big Ten with a 72.5 completion percentage and third with a 167.34 quarterback ranking to go along with 2,733 yards and 24 touchdowns to six picks.

10. CJ Carr, QB, Notre Dame — +50,000

The Fighting Irish freshman quarterback has also lived up to his hype as a four-star 2024 recruit, tying for third nationally with Heisman favorites Diego Pavia, Julian Sayin and Fernando Mendoza averaging 9.4 yards per passing attempt this season.

That’s in addition to directing Notre Dame’s explosive offense with 2,741 passing yards and 24 touchdowns to six interceptions in his first season as the Irish QB1.
