Dripping Springs (Texas) four-star quarterback and Baylor commit Austin Novosad has landed an offer from Ohio State after an impressive camp performance Wednesday.

Novosad has been committed to the Bears since December, while the Buckeyes do not have a quarterback commit in the 2023 cycle.

The Texas native is the No. 321 overall recruit in the 2023 cycle, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

The Buckeyes are in an unusual situation in the 2023 quarterback recruiting cycle, having already landed the No. 1 player in the 2024 cycle in Chandler (Ariz.) five-star quarterback Dylan Raiola.

The Buckeyes also have 2022 On3 No. 1 recruit Devin Brown and 2021 five-star recruit Kyle McCord in the quarterback room already.

On top of all of that, Ohio State has not been in the mix for any of the top quarterback recruits in the 2023 cycle, leaving many to believe the Buckeyes may pass on a quarterback this cycle. However, Lettermen Row’s Jeremy Birmingham said the Buckeyes are looking for a quarterback.

“Ohio State is going to look far-and-wide for the kid that wants that opportunity,” Birmingham said. “Who doesn’t want a chance at a lottery ticket? That’s what the Buckeyes are offering in this cycle. There may be no quarterback commitment in the last 10 years of Ohio State football with less pressure than the 2023 commitment will have on him.

He currently has an On3 NIL Valuation of $20k. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
