Love was in the air Saturday at Vaught Hemingway Stadium for a game between Ole Miss and The Citadel. During a TV timeout, once man popped the question to his girlfriend on the field in a unique way.

The man looked to be attempting a field goal as part of a routine crowd challenge with his girlfriend acting as the holder. However, as he appeared to gear up to kick the ball, he stopped and got on one knee instead.

It looked as if the answer was yes, as the couple hugged on field as the crowd cheered. Rebels coach Lane Kiffin even made sure to rush out onto the field to offer his congratulations to the happy couple.

“I didn’t know I’d be part of that,” Kiffin said. “Things happen in the ‘Sip, you know? That was cool. I didn’t know what was going on at all. Someone on the headset said it. That was really cool and how the crowd cheered for them.”

Ultimately, Ole Miss would go on to win the game against The Citadel by a score of 49-0, so the now engaged fans got two big wins on the day. It’s safe to say there will be plenty of celebration for them heading into this evening as they begin to plan the next chapter of their lives with each other.

As for the Rebels, they improved to 9-1 (5-1 SEC) on the season and continue to look like a College Football Playoff team. They’ll next face Florida at 7 p.m. ET next Saturday in what will be their second-to-last game of the regular season.

Lane Kiffin trolls Mississippi State during Ole Miss halftime interview

Ole Miss was up 35-0 at the halftime break Saturday and cruising. So Kiffin took a little liberty in his halftime interview on the Ole Miss Radio Network when discussing the first half.

“Just excited that Georgia is boat racing Mississippi State 38-7,” Kiffin said. “Oh, our game? I thought maybe you were talking about the first half of Mississippi State. I thought it was awesome…”

Somehow, Lane Kiffin managed to keep an eye on the goings on in Starkville during his team’s game. Whether it was having a staffer relaying an update or Kiffin checking his phone himself or a flash across the score ribbon in Vaught-Hemingway Stadium, the head man seemed to know exactly how things were going.

After Georgia had wrestled with Mississippi State and actually trailed at the end of the first quarter, Kirby Smart‘s squad started to stomp the opponent in the second quarter and on. By the time Kiffin saw the score, it was very lopsided indeed.
