Oregon 4-star DL commit Xadavien Sims 'Mosses' defender for TD catch
Durant (Okla.) four-star prospect Xadavien Sims may be committed to Oregon to play defensive line, but he showed off his ability to get up in the air on offense Friday night.
Demonstrating his ball skills and versatility, Sims jumped over a defender to come down with a 15-yard touchdown catch.
Sims has been committed to the Ducks since May and chose Oregon over schools like in-state Oklahoma.
“As soon as I touched campus I loved it,” Sims told On3 about why he chose Oregon. “By the time we started the photoshoot, I knew that was where I wanted to be. Everyone there is connected like a family and what’s at Oregon you can’t really find anywhere else in the country.”

Sims also detailed his strong relationships with the coaching staff in Eugene.
“I have a pretty good relationship with all of the staff,” Sims told On3. “I’m closest with coach Tuoiti and coach Lanning. Coach Tuioti has been to my school about four times since he’s offered me and I talk to coach Lanning every week. Coach Tuioti wants to play me early and keep me inside to play the 3-tech.”
Sims is the nation’s No. 271 overall prospect and No. 26 defensive lineman in the 2024 cycle according to the On3 Industry Ranking — a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 2 player in Oklahoma.
The 6-foot-3, 280-pound Sims currently has an On3 NIL Valuation of $61,000. The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets high school and college athletes’ projected annual value (PAV). The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
