Traeshon Holden ejected for spitting on Davison Igbinosun

Oregon receiver Traeshon Holden has been ejected from Saturday’s game against Ohio State after spitting in the face of Buckeyes defensive back Davison Igbinosun. The pair got tangled up near the end zone on a rushing play as Igbinosun gave Holden a slight shove out of bounds.
That caused the retaliation from Holden as he took things way past the line and turned around to spit in the defender’s face. As a result, he was forced to head to the locker room, where he will spend the remainder of the contest. You can view the moment below.
Holden was still fuming over the confrontation as he was escorted to the locker room. More video captured him taking his helmet off and throwing it in anger before sitting down against a wall and placing his head in his hands.
It’s a big blow for Oregon, as Holden was the team’s second-leading receiver with 19 catches for 274 yards and three touchdowns entering the game. He had made one catch for 32 yards against the Buckeyes prior to his ejection.

Evan Stewart has been leading the way so far for the Ducks receivers with five catches for 124 yards and a touchdown. However, Oregon will need to get Tez Johnson more involved with Holden now out. The leading receiver on the season, he had only one catch for a loss of two yards at the time of the ejection.
Justice Lowe entered the game in place of Holden and so far has one catch for nine yards. Oregon currently trails Ohio State by a score of 28-22 with 7:16 remaining in the third quarter.
This feels like a game that could come down to the wire as fans will get what they paid for in the top five matchup. Both teams entered undefeated and the winner will emerge as the frontrunner to take the Big Ten crown this season.
