WATCH: Texas A&M baseball begins weekend with epicly close Aggie flyover

SEC play got underway this weekend on the diamond, and Texas A&M baseball kicked things off in epic fashion. Prior to the Aggies’ weekend series at home against LSU, Texas A&M held a jaw-dropping flyover where the plane flew what seemed to be dangerously close to Blue Bell Park.
Those inside the stadium watched the flyover in awe, and one of the weekend’s most anticipated matchups got underway shortly after. The video Texas A&M posted of the flyover on Twitter was a simply unimaginable angle, which showed just how close the plane truly did seem to be to the stadium.
The Fightin’ Texas Aggie flyover was done in true Texas A&M fashion, as the plane, C-130J Super Hercules, was flown by Aggies Lt. Col. Brian Kriss (’01) and Capt. Matthew McBride (’11).
Texas A&M’s video showed the incredible view from beyond the outfield wall, but LSU’s view for the flyover might have been even better. The LSU Baseball Twitter account tweeted their own version of the flyover, and those outside the Tigers dugout could only loop up in awe as the plane passed them by.
Texas A&M entered the weekend ranked No. 15 in the latest D1Baseball Top 25 rankings. The Aggies came in with a 13-4 record overall, with a big-time battle against No. 1 LSU on deck.

The series hasn’t been as epic as the flyover was for Texas A&M, though, unfortunately for the Aggies. LSU took the first game of the series on Friday night, 9-0. The Tigers then won the second game on Saturday, winning 12-7 to clinch the series victory.
Texas A&M and LSU took the field again on Sunday for the final game of the weekend series. First pitch was at 2 p.m. ET, and LSU jumped out to an early lead on the Aggies.
Things aren’t getting any easier for Texas A&M on the diamond, either. The Aggies host Rice on Tuesday night in midweek action before starting another intriguing SEC matchup on Friday. Texas A&M will hit the road for their second SEC series, this time taking on No. 2 Tennessee in Knoxville. Then, the Aggies host Texas on Tuesday, March 28 before hosting an Ole Miss team that is currently ranked No. 3 in the nation the following weekend.
