Following an industry update to the 2023 rankings, the On3 Consensus has seen it’s own update to reflect the changes. Here’s a quick rundown of where Texas A&M targets land in the On3 Consensus top 100.

No. 6 – Allen (Tex.) High DL David Hicks

Perhaps Texas A&M’s top target in the 2023 cycle regardless of position, Hicks has visited College Station multiple times and is expected to return at least once more this offseason. The Aggies are battling Oklahoma, Oregon, Miami, Texas and others for the five-star’s commitment.

No. 9 – Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy OT Francis Mauigoa

The massive offensive tackle out of IMG Academy has Texas A&M in the mix, though the Aggies have to get the five-star on campus in order to keep up with the likes of USC, Miami, Alabama and others involved in his recruitment. If Mauigoa makes it out to College Station this offseason, the Aggies can make a serious move on the junior.

No. 14 – Denton (Tex.) Ryan LB Anthony Hill

As a junior, Hill accumulated 131 total tackles, including 18 tackles for loss, as well as eight sacks, six quarterback hurries and a pair of interceptions. The five-star last visited Texas A&M in January for the Aggies’ Junior Day. He will look to return at least once more this offseason. The Aggies is battling Oklahoma, Texas, Alabama and others for the five-star’s commitment.

No. 19 – Alabaster (Ala.) Thompson DB Tony Mitchell

It’s going to be tough for the Aggies to pull five-star cornerback Tony Mitchell out of Alabama, as the Crimson Tide have been trending recently in his recruitment. However, Mitchell has visited A&M twice in the last year, making his first trip last summer, and returning just two months ago after his junior season. Getting Mitchell on campus would be huge in order to swing this recruitment the Aggies’ way.

No. 27 – El Campo (Tex.) High RB Rueben Owens

A&M’s top running back target is also the top ranked running back in the country. The four-star has visited Texas A&M multiple times in recent months. He stopped through College Station a couple times in the summer, and returned for the Aggies’ stunning upset win over Alabama and for the win over Auburn in November. He most recently visited alongside a loaded group of 2023 prospects for the Aggies’ Junior Day in January. Texas A&M is battling Texas, USC, Alabama and Georgia for Owens’ commitment.

No. 30 – Arlington (Tex.) Martin CB Javien Toviano

Texas A&M is working hard to land four-star cornerback Javien Toviano, one of the more impressive athletes in the state of Texas this cycle. Toviano last visited College Station last summer, but is expected to return at least once this offseason. LSU, Oklahoma and Texas are among other schools to watch in his recruitment, among others.

No. 34 – Platte City (Mo.) Platte County EDGE Chandavian Bradley

Bradley is expected to visit for the spring game and the Aggies have shot way up his list of contenders since offering. USC and Miami remain strong contenders, and if the new Oklahoma staff re-offers, keep an eye on the Sooners as well, but the Aggies have a chance to make a strong impression when Bradley visits next month.

No. 36 – Danvers (Mass.) St. John’s Prep S Joenel Aguero

Texas A&M recently made the top seven for four-star safety Joenel Aguero, who moved back to his native region after spending his junior season at IMG Academy. The Aggies will look to get the four-star on campus at some point this offseason, though Georgia and Alabama appear to be the frontrunners in his recruitment. Getting Aguero on campus could go a long way on getting the Aggies more entrenched in his recruitment.

No. 41 – Dallas (Tex.) South Oak Cliff CB Malik Muhammad

The Aggies will have to fend off national schools like Michigan, Georgia, Alabama and Ohio State, in addition to regional schools like Texas and Oklahoma to land Muhammad. The four-star is set to visit Alabama in two weeks and is looking to visit Michigan in the coming weeks as well. Texas A&M is expected to see Muhammad return for at least one visit this offseason.

No. 42 – DeSoto (Tex.) High WR Johntay Cook II

Cook recently released a top-seven list of Alabama, Clemson, LSU, Ohio State, Ole Miss, Texas and Texas A&M, though the Longhorns appear to be the biggest contender outside of the Aggies in his recruitment. Cook last visited Texas A&M in January for the Aggies’ junior day and will likely return at least once more this offseason. Texas A&M still appears to trail behind Texas in this recruitment, but Cook will have a close eye on how the Aggies use freshman wideout Evan Stewart, his friend and former 7-on-7 teammate, this upcoming season.

No. 51 – Cypress (Tex.) Langham Creek WR Jaquaize Pettaway

Texas A&M sees four-star wide receiver Jaquaize Pettaway as either a slot or outside receiver. The versatile junior is relatively wide open in his recruitment, but schools like Florida, LSU and Texas are among those standing out to him, outside of the Aggies. Pettaway originally hails from Alabama, and the Crimson Tide will be tough to beat should they offer the four-star.

No. 57 – Orlando (Fla.) Edgewater RB Cedric Baxter Jr.

Texas A&M is set to host Cedric Baxter Jr. on a visit at the end of the month and has a chance to make a serious move on the talented junior. Baxter’s recruitment is truly national as the four-star is considering schools like USC, Florida, Texas, Alabama and more, in addition to Texas A&M.

No. 60 – Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) Stranahan WR Hykeem Williams

Williams recently announced a top eight that included Texas A&M. Since announcing his top schools just one month ago, Florida has re-entered, while other schools continue to pursue. The four-star is set to visit Texas A&M for the spring game next month and the Aggies will have a chance to make up some ground on in-state schools like Miami, Florida and Florida State.

No. 62 – Longview (Tex.) High WR Jalen Hale

Texas A&M offered Jalen Hale early in his high school career and has remained in the mix ever since. The four-star is wide open in his recruitment, with Alabama, USC and Texas as three schools to keep an eye on. Hale will have a close eye on the Aggies’ quarterback battle this offseason, as he’s close with his former high school quarterback Haynes King, son of Longview head coach John King. The Aggies will look to get Hale back on campus at least once this offseason.

No. 63 – Shiner (Tex.) High S Dalton Brooks

Shiner (Tex.) four-star safety Dalton Brooks plays both ways for the Comanches, and is an elite-level running back in his own right, but has a higher ceiling as a defensive back. Brooks keeps things relatively close to vest, but the Aggies are is strong position nine months out from National Signing Day. Texas remains a strong contender and both schools will likely host the four-star on multiple visits this offseason. National schools like Alabama, LSU and Michigan, among others will look to pull Brooks out of the state, but this should come down to a Texas vs. Texas A&M battle.

No. 72 – Odessa (Tex.) Permian OL Harris Sewell

Sewell is the Aggies’ top target along the interior of the offensive line. The four-star has had A&M among his top schools for some time now, and recently made his way down to College Station for the Aggies’ Junior Day in late January. Alabama, Clemson, Notre Dame, Texas and Oklahoma are among others to watch in his recruitment.

No. 73 – Dallas (Tex.) South Oak Cliff CB Jayvon Thomas

Texas A&M is sitting in a solid spot for the four-star cornerback out of South Oak Cliff. The Aggies have established a strong relationship with Thomas, but will have to fend off Texas, LSU and Texas Tech, among others to land his talents.

No. 83 – Tyler (Tex.) Legacy DL Jordan Renaud

Renaud moved from Florida to Texas ahead of his junior season and shined for Tyler Legacy, recording 66 tackles, eight tackles for loss and two sacks for the Red Raiders. Oklahoma, Texas, Georgia and Alabama are among schools to watch, as well as the usual suspects from his home state of Florida. The Aggies are expected to get Renaud out to campus at least once this offseason.

No. 84 – Garland (Tex.) Naaman Forest OL Markis Deal

Texas A&M is heavily in pursuit of Markis Deal, who plays both sides of the line, but has a higher ceiling as an interior offensive lineman. Deal last visited College Station in the fall, but is expected to return at least once this offseason. Keep an eye on Michigan, Oklahoma, Texas and USC in his recruitment. Expect Deal to visit at least once this offseason.

No. 98 – Aldine (Tex.) Eisenhower WR Ryan Niblett

Texas A&M has an offer out to four-star wide receiver Ryan Niblett, who’s recruitment appears to be wide open as it stands. The four-star burst on the scene after recording a 10.58 100m as a sophomore. Niblett was the Texas District 14-6A All-Purpose Player of the Year as a junior. He recently announced a top seven that included Texas A&M, and has since added Texas and LSU to his list of schools he’s considering. Alabama is a key contender to keep an eye on his recruitment, among others.
