Texas has always been Kelvin Banks‘ dream school. Just ask his mother.

After Banks announced his commitment Saturday to Texas, Monica Banks posted photos showcasing Banks’ love of the Longhorns throughout his childhood.

The photos include a bed decked out in Texas sheets, photos from Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium and Banks wearing burnt orange gear.

The Humble (Texas) Summer Creek five-star offensive tackle told On3’s Hayes Fawcett that he feels like Austin is where he is meant to player college football.

“I felt like there was no place better to be, it’s my dream school, and the place itself is beautiful,” Banks said. “Also, the people and the coaching staff.”

Kelvin Banks is the No. 14 overall recruit in the country and No. 1 offensive tackle in the country, according to On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

He is the fourth-best player from the state of Texas after Frisco (Texas) Liberty Five-Star Plus+ wide receiver Evan Stewart, Cypress (Texas) Cy Park Five-Star Plus+ linebacker Harold Perkins and Arlington (Texas) Bowie five-star interior offensive lineman Devon Campbell.

Banks’ commitment resulted in the Longhorns jumping from No. 8 to No. 6 in the On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Ranking.

The Longhorns have 22 total commits with Banks as the highest-rated prospect in the group.

Kelvin Banks joins Spearman (Texas) four-star wide receiver Brenen Thompson, Bremond (Texas) Marlin four-star defensive lineman Jaray Bledsoe, Aledo (Texas) four-star safety Bryan Allen Jr. and Ascension Catholic (Donaldsonville, LA) four-star EDGE J’mond Tapp as the top recruits in the class.
