Major Pride commits to UCLA and breaks down his decision

North Las Vegas (Nev.) Canyon Springs wide receiver Major Pride just announced his commitment to UCLA and broke down why he chose the Bruins.
Pride originally committed to San Diego State over the summer in what was a under-rated pickup for the Aztecs.
Pride received a late scholarship offer from the Bruins and took an official visit two weeks ago. Minutes ago he decided to flip his commitment to the Big 10 program.
“I’m very excited about my decision,” Pride said. “There’s a lot of reasons why I chose UCLA but the biggest was I put my trust in God and I know he has a plan for me.
“I had a great time on my visit and really had a strong comfort level with the school. I connected really well with the coaching staff and loved the campus and the overall culture there. I love the academic prestige of the school, that was huge too.”
Khary Darlington (general manager) and Marshawn Friloux (Dir. of Football Operations) were the lead recruiters in Pride’s recruitment.
“I really like those guys and how they always keep it real with me,” Pride said. “They never tried to sugarcoat anything with me and were very honest and I respect that.
“I know there’s no guarantee who’s going to still be there when a new coach comes in but UCLA is still UCLA. It’s a great school no matter who’s there so I’m just excited to be a Bruin.”

Pride had to sit out his senior year after transferring in to Torrance (Calif.) Bishop Montgomery. He was one of several players ruled ineligible but the Bruins decided to still offer a scholarship after evaluating junior and off-season tape.
He’s a talented player and had a solid junior season, totaling 32 catches for 572 yards and seven touchdowns. He added 15 tackles and two interceptions playing safety but was recruited primarily as a receiver.
He’s a big framed athlete, pushing 6-foot-3 and is a true outside receiver. His tape was impressive and he has some high level traits who plays a physical game, can win jump balls and is strong at the catch point.
He’ll join close friend Kenneth Moore and recent Princeton flip commit Markus Kier as the receivers in UCLA’s ’26 class.
“Kenneth is my childhood best friend,” Pride said. “To be able to team up with him is a dream come true. I really can’t wait! I’m just truly blessed for this opportunity, all glory to God!”
