Jenks (Okla.) remains one of the top high school football programs in Oklahoma and the Trojans just picked up a gigantic 31-21 win on the road over Owasso.

Leading the way in the backfield is senior running back Kaydin Jones. The 6-foot, 170-pounder has long been one of the top players in the state and he remains a handful for opposing defenses.

In the win on Friday, Jones toted the rock 34 times and compiled 160 yards — later labeled by Jones as “hard yards” — and three touchdowns. Jenks was down 21-7 and the Oklahoma State commit led the comeback down the stretch.

“I’m just so proud of my boys,” Jones told 2 News Oklahoma after the win. “We never put our heads down, we just battled back the whole game, scored before halftime, got the ball out of halftime and went and scored again.”

Against some of the stiffest competition he’ll face all season, Jones still managed to find pay dirt three times. That performance followed an all-time season-opener, where he tallied 208 total yards and five scores in a 51-7 win over Santa Fe. His five TDs set the program record for most in the first game of a season.

Stuffing stat sheets is nothing new to Jones, who’s rushed for over 1,000 yards in each of his first three seasons at the prep level. As a junior in 2024, he rushed for 1,483 yards and 17 touchdowns. He found the end zone 36 times across his last two seasons entering this fall.

He’ll continue to pace Jenks, which now ranks as the No. 26 team in the nation and No. 2 team in Oklahoma, according to the Massey Ratings. The Trojans play Tulsa Union this week before welcoming No. 1 Bixby to town on Sept. 26 in what will likely be a nationally-ranked clash.

Jones is the No. 462 overall prospect and No. 29 RB in the 2026 cycle, according to the Rivals Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 5 player in Oklahoma.

Despite being an Oklahoma legacy, he committed to Oklahoma State on March 26 and remains one of the top-ranked pledges in the Cowboys’ class. Carving out his own path in Stillwater rather than Norman was a major factor in his decision.

“Being an OU legacy and committing to the in-state rival is a surreal feeling,” Jones told Rivals. “I get to build my own legacy at a new school and get to build something for following generations.”
