Mississippi High School Football Top 25 Rankings - Nov. 10

The high school football regular season concluded for most teams in Mississippi last week, and the top programs in the Magnolia State are now focused on the postseason.

Another jam-packed slate is on deck as teams continue their quests for a state title. Below are the top 25 Mississippi high school football teams, according to the Massey Ratings, as of Nov. 10.

1. Tupelo Golden Wave

The Golden Wave marched to a 10-1 record after their 42-19 victory over DeSoto Central. Tupelo punished the Jaguars with their ground game, led by Jaeden Hill (160 rushing yards, two touchdowns), Braylen Williams (151 yards, two touchdowns), and Kylan Bobo (71 yards, two TDs). On defense, Tyson Hunter had eight tackles, including a sack. The Golden Wave will face Starkville in the first round of the Mississippi high school football Class 7A state playoffs on November 14. 

2. West Point Green Wave

The Green Wave remained perfect this season after their 49-0 shutout victory against Columbus. Kingston Branham finished with 166 rushing yards, while Colt Whitacre threw for two touchdowns. West Point will play against Vicksburg in the opening round of the Class 5A state playoffs.

3. Oxford Chargers

The Chargers extended their winning streak to six games after edging Starkville 27-21. Knox Kiffin threw for 197 passing yards and four touchdowns, while Kevin Smith made 103 receiving yards and three TDs. Meanwhile, the Oxford defense generated four sacks, while Weldon Wilkinson and Zayvien Cristal combined for 30 tackles. The Chargers will face Hernando in the first round of the Mississippi high school football Class 7A state playoffs on November 14.

4. Madison-Ridgeland Academy Patriots

The Patriots are on a nine-game winning streak after defeating Simpson County Academy 35-12. Samuel Stockett and Austin Banks III each had a passing touchdown, while Michael McCrory had a couple of rushing TDs. Madison-Ridgeland Academy will play against Jackson Academy in the MAIS Class 4A-Division 1 semifinal on November 14.

5. Ocean Springs Greyhounds

The Greyhounds are coming off a 49-21 victory over St. Martin. Chalmers Berglind threw for 176 yards and four touchdowns, while Lanny Waltman rushed for 125 yards and a touchdown. Solomon Baggett added 106 rushing yards and a TD, while Sharroid Whitehead had a rushing and a receiving touchdown. Ocean Springs will face Brandon in the first round of the Mississippi high school football Class 7A state playoffs on November 14.
