The postseason continued in the Magnolia State last week, and another jam-packed slate is on deck as teams continue their quests for a state title. Below are the top 25 Mississippi high school football teams, according to the Massey Ratings, as of Nov. 17.

1. Tupelo Golden Wave

The Golden Wave completed a 28-10 victory over Starkville in the first round of the Mississippi high school football Class 7A playoffs. Braylen Williams threw a touchdown pass and completed two rushing scores. Jaeden Hill finished with 173 rushing yards and a receiving TD. Meanwhile, the Tupelo defense generated five tackles for losses, including two sacks. The Golden Wave will face Germantown in Round 2 on November 21.

2. West Point Green Wave

The Green Wave dominated Vicksburg in the opening round of the Class 5A state playoffs. Kingston Branham rushed for 118 yards and a touchdown while Quentin Thompson had nine carries for 136 yards and a touchdown. West Point will face Pontotoc in Round 2 on November 21.

3. Oxford Chargers

The Chargers made light work of Hernando to keep their playoff journey alive. Knox Kiffin threw two touchdown passes, while Demar Jamerson rushed for 109 yards and a touchdown. On defense, Traviyon Dudley had a sack and an interception. Oxford advances to face Horn Lake in Round 2 of the Mississippi high school football Class 7A playoffs on November 21.

4. Oak Grove Warriors

The Warriors completed a 52-20 victory over Biloxi in the opening round of the Class 7A playoffs. Kellen Hall finished with 293 passing yards and three touchdowns, while Roman Causey had a couple of rushing touchdowns. KJ Roberts tallied 120 receiving yards and two TDs. Oak Grove will advance to the next round to face Brandon on the 21st.

5. Germantown Mavericks

The Mavericks opened the Mississippi high school football Class 7A playoffs by scoring 70 points against DeSoto Central. Germantown scored eight rushing touchdowns, led by Nyrikius Johnson’s 232 yards and five touchdowns. Lawson Branson had 111 rushing yards and a touchdown, while King White tallied 96 yards and two scores. The Mavericks will battle against Tupelo in the next round on November 21.
