Prediction: Corner Canyon (Utah) runs table to UHSAA title

The 2025 high school football season will be getting underway in less than six weeks, which means it’s officially preview season. Rivals is breaking down the nation’s top teams from coast-to-coast, and today we make our way to Utah as the Corner Canyon Chargers are coming off one of the most successful seasons in program history. I mean, anytime you can beat IMG Academy, you’ve got to consider that apart of the best campaign ever, right? Returning a star-studded cast on offense, can the Chargers live up to the expectations of winning another state championship in 2025?
Player Spotlight: QB Helaman Casuga
The 4-star 2026 signal caller shared time under center with fellow junior Bronson Evans as the two combined to throw for 3,515 yards and 39 touchdowns. Casuga, who is already committed to Texas A&M, heads into the season with high expectations of leading the Chargers to win another state championship. With receivers like Jerome Myles and Chryshaun Lee having both graduated, Casuga and Evans will have to rely on wideouts like Kai Meza and Isaiah Morris to step up in their place this fall.
Others to watch: OL Esun Tafa, WR Kai Meza, S Diesel Dart, WR Isaiah Morris, EDGE Manase Brown
Season Prediction: 9-1
We don’t see this going any other way: Corner Canyon wins a UHSAA Class 6A state championship. How can we be so certain, especially when they play teams like Liberty (Ariz.) and Lone Peak? Well, when they meet Liberty in a Arizona vs. Utah title, we see that being the only loss by the Chargers all season long. The rest of the way, however, we feel goes in Corner Canyon’s favor as they make a run back to the 6A title game, meet Lone Peak and come away victorious for the program’s sixth state championship. With the kind of talent they’ve got coming back, it’s difficult seeing this not end in Corner Canyon bringing home some hardware.
