Prediction: Owasso (Okla.) falls to Bixby in state title game

The 2025 high school football season will be getting underway in less than six weeks, which means it’s officially preview season. Rivals is breaking down the nation’s top teams from coast-to-coast, and today we head to Oklahoma OSSAA Class 6A power Owasso. The Rams are coming off a 2024 season in which they just narrowly came up short of winning a state championship, falling to rival Bixby, 43-42. With both teams on another collision course to meet for a rematch at the end, can Owasso upend their counterparts when it’s all said and done?
Player Spotlight: QB Drew Frankenfield
We could start with a slew of other players, but it’s really tough to not go with the Rams’ field general coming off a stellar sophomore season. Last season for Owasso, Drew Frankenfield ended the season completing 178 of 232 passes (76 percent) for 2,671 yards and 35 touchdowns. Those numbers were good enough to have Frankenfield at the top of any leaderboard in the state for quarterbacks. With one season of starting experience under his belt, the sky looks to be the limit for the signal caller who could be seeing college offers flow his way this fall.
Others to watch: DL Tajh Overton, S Carter Langenderfer, WR Takhari Bethel, WR Julius Wilson
Season Prediction: 9-1
With the way last season ended, you have to believe revenge is fully on the minds of every Ram in the locker room. Beat Bixby. The rallying cry turns into a chance at turning the tables in the regular season opener at the University of Tulsa when they face Bixby in a Class 6A title rematch. This contest will attract thousands of fans to kickoff the season. The end result is no different than last year’s state championship game and Owasso starts off 0-1. The rest of the season, however, plays out in favor of the Rams as they ride a 12-game winning streak and get another shot at Bixby for the title, again. We just don’t see Owasso getting over the hump in 6A as they come up short in a game that plays out very similar to last year’s affair.
