Rivals National High School Football Composite Rankings - Nov. 19

The 12th set of Rivals National High School Football Composite Rankings of the season has been released and IMG Academy (Fla.) remains at the top, despite announcing its cancelation of the game against rival and No. 2 ranked St. Frances Academy (Md.) a couple weeks ago.
St. John Bosco (Calif.) outside of the Top 10 for the first time this season, with Georgia’s Grayson and Buford at 3-4, respectively. Baylor School (Tenn.) makes its debut into the national ranks at No. 25, with Mission Viejo (Calif.) falling out of the Top 25. Who else cracks the latest set of national high school football composite Top 25 rankings this week?
Below are the top-25 teams in the Rivals National High School Football Composite Rankings, a proprietary algorithm that compiles rankings listed in the public domain by respected media and data companies. It includes Massey, MaxPreps, ESPN and SI, creating the industry’s most comprehensive and geographically balanced ranking.
1. IMG Academy Ascenders (Fla.)
The IMG Academy Ascenders (9-0) season is effectively over for 2025 as they announced last week that their rivalry game with No. 2 ranked St. Frances Academy (Md.) will not be rescheduled. What looked like a potential de facto national championship game goes to the way side as high school football fans won’t get to see what could’ve been between the two teams.
Their last game on the gridiron of the season, the Ascenders went back up to New Jersey for the second time this season and defeated Hun School, 31-13.
Now the question must be has IMG Academy done enough to maintain their No. 1 ranking for the rest of 2025 with just nine games?
2. St. Frances Academy Panthers (Md.)
St. Frances Academy (7-1) won’t get the chance to show the country that they’re the No. 1 team in the country against IMG Academy, as the Ascenders announced last week that they will not be rescheduling the game against the Panthers.
Needless to say, St. Frances Academy head coach Messay Hailemariam had quite a bit to say to Rivals after the surprising announcement was made.
The Panthers’ most impressive win of the season was the opener when they cruised to a 42-13 thrashing of Chaminade-Madonna Prep (Fla) at the Broward County Classic. The Panthers’ lone loss this season came when they traveled across the country to take on No. 1 St. John Bosco and narrowly lost in a 21-14 decision.
The Panthers latest win was a 35-0 defeat of Virginia’s No. 1 ranked The St. James Academy in Baltimore. Question is, will St. Frances Academy be in play for one more game now that its matchup with IMG Academy is off?
3. Grayson Rams (Ga.)
Grayson (10-0) has throughly dominated its last eight opponents, winning by a combined 386-48. All the Rams have gone out and done is win important games against regional powers like Alabama’s Thompson and a 63-13 rout of Mallard Creek (N.C.), respectively. Junior signal caller Deuce Smith has taken the controls of the offense for Grayson and has played admirably behind center, throwing for 1,989 yards and 24 touchdowns this season.
The Rams opened up the GHSA Class 6A playoffs with a 44-7 rout of Norcross and this week play in arguably one of the best games in the state when they welcome always dangerous Colquitt County into town from South Georgia.
4. Buford Wolves (Ga.)
Buford’s (11-0) has really created the feel that they could be the best team in the Peach State and their latest win, a 35-3 decision over Mill Creek, the previous No. 23 ranked team in Georgia.
First up to start the season was a meeting with No. 18 Milton, with the Wolves coming away with a 20-13 victory on national television. The Wolves then hit the road to Savannah to face a very good Benedictine Military School squad and won by multiple scores. The 65-21 rout of Roswell a few weeks ago leaves many wondering if Buford could be the team to beat for Georgia’s Class 6A state championship when it’s all said and done against Grayson (see above).
The Wolves Georgia’s GHSA Class 6A postseason last week with a 45-0 win over Richmond Hill and now are gearing up to take on Newton in the second round.
5. Southlake Carroll Dragons (TX)
The Southlake Carroll Dragons (11-0) just can’t be stopped as the Dragons have allowed just 10 points in their last four games, which included last week’s 35-0 win over Crowley in last week’s Class 6A, Division II playoffs.
There’s not many offenses nationally that are scoring at the clip that the Dragons are, with Southlake Carroll averaging 50.3 points per game behind the play of Pittsburgh commit Angelo Renda (3,148 yards, 31 touchdowns) guiding the offensive unit. Blake Gunter has been playing well at wide receiver for the Dragons, catching 50 passes for 972 yards and 12 touchdowns.
Southlake Carroll heads into the second round of the postseason against Central (7-4).
6. Mater Dei Monarchs (Calif.)
Well look who is still left standing after all the dust settled from the first round of the CIF Southern Section Division I playoffs: Mater Dei (9-2).
The Monarchs’ defense rose to the occasion last week as they shut out Mission Viejo , 20-0, in the opening round of the CIF Division I playoffs. Now Mater Dei aims to exact revenge against Centennial, a team that defeated the Monarchs 43-36 during the regular season, for a chance to reach the CIF Southern Section Division I title game at the Rose Bowl.
The Monarchs this season has edged out St. Thomas Aquinas (Fla.) at the Broward County High School Football Classic down in Fort Lauderdale, pulling off a 26-23 victory to start the 2025 season. The Monarchs had to do it again a couple weeks later in a 21-18 win over Kahuku (Hawaii) and also owns a impressive road win over No. 7 Bishop Gorman (see below).
7. Bishop Gorman Gaels (Nev.)
Ever since losing to No. 13 ranked Mater Dei back on Sep. 19, the Bishop Gorman Gaels (11-1) have won and shut out every team in their path except for one. The Gaels had totaled five straight shutout wins until last week’s 56-5 rout of Foothill.
The Gaels a few weeks ago was able to come away with a 14-0 win over the Santa Margarita Eagles, bouncing back from their lone loss of the season against Mater Dei (Calif.). Hawaii commitment Maika Eugenio has been terrific on the offensive side of the ball, throwing for 2,469 yards and 33 touchdowns on the season.

It has been a forgone conclusion that the Gaels are destined to win another Nevada state championship, but that’s not the ultimate goal for this program as they continue to remain in the national picture. Bishop Gorman has run the regular season slate of games and now are in the state championship round of the Nevada Interscholastic Activities Association (NIAA) playoffs this week against Arbor View.
8. Centennial Huskies (Calif.)
The Centennial Huskies (10-1) remain optimistic about their chances of competing for the CIF’s Open Division state championship because of the myriad of talent they possess within their front seven defensively.
Both senior three-star linebacker Jonathan McKinley (Cal commit) and junior defensive lineman Miles Schirmer, who has overtures from programs like Notre Dame, Texas, Washington and USC, lead a very talented defensive front. On offense, quarterback Dominick Catalano leads a potent passing attack, throwing for 1,898 yards and 18 touchdowns this fall.
Centennial began their quest for the CIF Southern Section crown when they rolled to a 41-6 victory over Servite last week and now will take on No. 6 Mater Dei in a rematch from the regular season. Can the Huskies beat the Monarchs twice in one season?
9. Edna Karr Cougars (La.)
The Edna Karr Cougars (10-0) closed out their regular season when they rolled to a 35-14 win over Archbishop Rummel, in a game that saw the Cougars trail 14-0 at the outset. Edna Karr is back on the field this week when they take on Jesuit to start the LHSAA postseason.
Edna Karr earlier this season finally broke through into the Top 10 of the Rivals Composite rankings after they soundly defeated St. Augustine, 42-21. The Cougars also owns an impressive wins over Florida’s American Heritage, 24-17, from earlier in the season when they met in New Orleans and versus New Orleans Jesuit, a 41-0 decision.
There’s not many defenses that feature the kind of star power the Cougars do across the board. Edna Karr’s front seven is led by LSU four-star defensive tackle commit Richard Anderson and the secondary is stacked with Division I talent.
10. Don Bosco Prep (N.J.)
One Bosco drops out of the Top 10 and a new one enters in New Jersey’s Don Bosco Prep (10-0), which is the Garden State’s No. 1 high school football team this season.
Heading into this week’s NJSIAA Non-Public A state semifinals against rival Bergen Catholic means a lot more than just the rivalry between the two as a trip to the state championship is on the line. The Ironmen have dominated their last four opponents to the tune of a combined score of 141-20.
Armed with one of the Northeast’s top linebacking corps, led by UCF commit Matthew Occhipinti and four-star 2027 Mikahi Allen, this is a very special defensive group that will look to help Don Bosco Prep book their trip to the state finals.
