The 13th set of Rivals National High School Football Composite Rankings of the season has been released and IMG Academy (Fla.) remains at the top, with St. Frances Academy (Md.) and Buford (Ga.) just behind them at 2-3, respectively.

Georgia’s Grayson and Texas’ Southlake Carroll checks in at No. 4-5, respectively. No new schools entered this week’s Top 25 rankings, with teams just shuffling around. Who else cracks the latest set of national high school football composite Top 25 rankings this week?

Below are the top-25 teams in the Rivals National High School Football Composite Rankings, a proprietary algorithm that compiles rankings listed in the public domain by respected media and data companies. It includes Massey, MaxPreps, ESPN and SI, creating the industry’s most comprehensive and geographically balanced ranking.

1. IMG Academy Ascenders (Fla.)

The IMG Academy Ascenders (9-0) season is effectively over for 2025 as they announced last week that their rivalry game with No. 2 ranked St. Frances Academy (Md.) will not be rescheduled. What looked like a potential de facto national championship game goes to the way side as high school football fans won’t get to see what could’ve been between the two teams.

Their last game on the gridiron of the season, the Ascenders went back up to New Jersey for the second time this season and defeated Hun School, 31-13.

Now the question must be has IMG Academy done enough to maintain their No. 1 ranking for the rest of 2025 with just nine games?

2. St. Frances Academy Panthers (Md.)

St. Frances Academy (7-1) will get the chance after all to show the country that they’re the No. 1 team in the country when they take on Corner Canyon on Dec. 10 for the first-ever Overtime Nationals high school football championship.

The Panthers’ most impressive win of the season was the opener when they cruised to a 42-13 thrashing of Chaminade-Madonna Prep (Fla) at the Broward County Classic. The Panthers’ lone loss this season came when they traveled across the country to take on No. 1 St. John Bosco and narrowly lost in a 21-14 decision.

The Panthers latest win was a 35-0 defeat of Virginia’s No. 1 ranked The St. James Academy in Baltimore. With all the time off since Nov. 1, how will the Panthers fair against the Chargers, which will be coming off winning Utah’s Class 6A state championship?

3. Buford Wolves (Ga.)

Buford’s (12-0) flexed their proverbial muscle again last week in Georgia’s Class 6A playoffs as they defeated a solid Newton team, 31-14.

First victory to start the 2025 season was a meeting with No. 18 Milton, with the Wolves coming away with a 20-13 victory on national television. The Wolves then the following week hit the road to Savannah to face a very good Benedictine Military School squad and won by multiple scores. All of the impressive wins littered along the Wolves’ schedule leaves many wondering if Buford could be the team to beat for Georgia’s Class 6A state championship when it’s all said and done against Grayson (see below).

Buford now shifts its attention over to a very talented Douglas County, ranked No. 10 in the state of Georgia, in this week’s GHSA Class 6A state quarterfinal.

4. Grayson Rams (Ga.)

Grayson (12-0) may have one of the toughest roads to a state title of any team in the country. All the Rams have gone out and done is win important games against regional powers like Alabama’s Thompson and a 63-13 rout of Mallard Creek (N.C.), respectively. Junior signal caller Deuce Smith has taken the controls of the offense for Grayson and has played admirably behind center, throwing for 1,989 yards and 24 touchdowns this season.

The Rams continued through the GHSA Class 6A playoffs with a 31-10 victory over Colquitt County to advance into this week’s state quarterfinals against No. 22 nationally ranked Carrollton. Get your popcorn ready for when the Rams and Trojans clash in Northwest Georgia.

5. Southlake Carroll Dragons (TX)

The Southlake Carroll Dragons (12-0) just can’t be stopped as the Dragons have allowed just 17 points in their last five games, which included last week’s 72-7 win over Central in last week’s Class 6A, Division II playoffs.

There’s not many offenses nationally that are scoring at the clip that the Dragons are, with Southlake Carroll averaging 50.3 points per game behind the play of Pittsburgh commit Angelo Renda (3,514 yards, 36 touchdowns) guiding the offensive unit. Blake Gunter has been playing well at wide receiver for the Dragons, catching 57 passes for 1,040 yards and 13 touchdowns.

Southlake Carroll heads into the third round of the postseason against Prosper, in what will be on paper, the best game in the Lone Star State.

6. Centennial Huskies (Calif.)

The Centennial Huskies (11-1) are now in the position they felt ever confident they could be in from the start of the season: In the CIF Southern Section Division I championship game.

Centennial will head to the Rose Bowl this week to take on No. 12 ranked Santa Margarita Catholic after beating No. 9 Mater Dei in the semifinals, 28-27. Can Matt Logan’s bunch come away with a state crown?

Both senior three-star linebacker Jonathan McKinley (Cal commit) and junior defensive lineman Miles Schirmer, who has overtures from programs like Notre DameTexasWashington and USC, lead a very talented defensive front. On offense, quarterback Dominick Catalano leads a potent passing attack, throwing for 2,187 yards and 19 touchdowns this fall.

7. Bishop Gorman Gaels (Nev.)

Ever since losing to No. 13 ranked Mater Dei back on Sep. 19, the Bishop Gorman Gaels (12-1) have won and shut out every team in their path except for two. The Gaels capped their 2025 season on Tuesday night in the Nevada Interscholastic Activities Association (NIAA) Open Division championship, defeating Arbor View, 44-7.

The Gaels a few weeks ago was able to come away with a 14-0 win over the Santa Margarita Eagles, bouncing back from their lone loss of the season against Mater Dei (Calif.). Hawaii commitment Maika Eugenio ended his season with one of the top seasons for any passer in the state of Nevada, throwing for 2,760 yards and 37 touchdowns.

It was a forgone conclusion that the Gaels were destined to win another Nevada state championship, but that’s not the ultimate goal for this program as they always continue to remain in the national title picture.

8. Edna Karr Cougars (La.)

The Edna Karr Cougars (11-0) returned to the field last week when they took on Jesuit to start the LHSAA postseason, coming away with a dominating 39-13 win. Friday night they’ll take on the state’s No. 11 ranked Evangel Christian Academy at home.

Edna Karr earlier this season finally broke through into the Top 10 of the Rivals Composite rankings after they soundly defeated St. Augustine, 42-21. The Cougars also owns an impressive wins over Florida’s American Heritage, 24-17, from earlier in the season when they met in New Orleans and versus New Orleans Jesuit, a 41-0 decision.

There’s not many defenses that feature the kind of star power the Cougars do across the board. Edna Karr’s front seven is led by LSU four-star defensive tackle commit Richard Anderson and the secondary is stacked with Division I talent.

9. Mater Dei Monarchs (Calif.)

With all of the expectations that were at the backs of Mater Dei (9-3) this season, it all came crashing down in last week’s 28-27 loss to Centennial, the second time they had lost to the Huskies in 2025.

The Monarchs’ defense had risen to the occasion the week before as they shut out Mission Viejo , 20-0, in the opening round of the CIF Division I playoffs. Mater Dei’s season comes to a close falling well short of expectations as many had picked this team to not only be at the top of the California high school football world, but also nationally as well.

The Monarchs’ highlights this season was edging out St. Thomas Aquinas (Fla.) at the Broward County High School Football Classic down in Fort Lauderdale, pulling off a 26-23 victory to start the 2025 season. The Monarchs had to do it again a couple weeks later in a 21-18 win over Kahuku (Hawaii) and also owns a impressive road win over No. 7 Bishop Gorman.

10. Don Bosco Prep (N.J.)

New Jersey’s Don Bosco Prep (10-0) rounds out our Top 10, which the Ironmen are the Garden State’s No. 1 high school football team this season.

Heading into last week’s NJSIAA Non-Public A state semifinals against rival Bergen Catholic, Don Bosco Prep was looking to beat the Crusaders for a second time in the season and they did, 31-17. The Ironmen have dominated their last five opponents to the tune of a combined score of 172-37.

Now the Ironmen head into this week’s NJSIAA Non-Public A state championship against St. Joseph Regional at MetLife Stadium on Friday night.

Armed with one of the Northeast’s top linebacking corps, led by UCF commit Matthew Occhipinti and four-star 2027 Mikahi Allen, this is a very special defensive group that will look to help Don Bosco Prep win their first state title since 2015.
