Worked with Kane Wommack at South Alabama and Bryan Ellis at Georgia Southern. So there is some familiarity within the staff.

Fantastic hire. TEs gave us absolutely no help in the run game. Getting Ford in the portal and OL coach (with a ton of TE experience) is huge

Feels like a damn good hire to get power four offensive line coach to coach tight ends.

At Louisville, Owens’ offensive lines helped the Cardinals rank among the top five in the ACC in rushing offense each of his three years with the team.
That’s what I like to hear.

This hire seems like a double hire imo. You get a TE’s coach and another OL coach essentially in one hire. Very nice.

This hire is another example of why Deboer knows what the hell he’s doing
He’s a former nfl TE and has experience coaching them
the problem with our TEs this past szn was they couldn’t block a soul so u get a guy who can correct that fast
bringing in a guy who very familiar w the state
and he also has run game coordinator experience
getting a guy to leave his Alma mater for u is a boss move plus he from Florida maybe he can get us back eating in that state 👀

Hiring a former offensive line coach to coach tight ends is a great move. Ellis was good but he didn’t really have much if any experience coaching guys how to block. He’s much better suited in the QB room.

Charlie Potter said:Great hire by Kalen DeBoer here. Yes, I know he will be coaching TE’s, but I’m more excited that he has OL experience and he’s another brain in the room on top having Grubb & Klemm. Louisville averaged 5.09 YPC and Isaac & Keyjuan Brown had 1588 combined yards last season.
