Dixon cannot leave. Get busy coaches

If I were going to choose one to stay it would be Dixon. He seems to need some more coaching yet also has a clutch gene that IMO cannot be taught. I think he should play off the ball. (Not including the ones who haven't entered the portal)

I really hope they get him to stay and then utilize him as the 2 with some flexibility. Still think another dynamic scorer would be needed at the 3. Someone who can score at all 3 levels

He’s an average to slightly above average PG we can do better

He’s going to want to be a starter. Are yall sure you willing to give him that to stay?

This board constantly over hypes our own guys. Malone can have somebody head and shoulders better than dixon in here in a week. I like Dixon fine, but he's not a starter-caliber player on the roster Malone will put together for next year. Veesar is the only guy who's worth going all out to keep.

Need speed and handle at PG---DD is good but need better. Off ball would seem better

Dixon would be a good third guard next year.

I'd argue that Stevenson is nearly as valuable because of the range of people he can guard.

I might be in the minority but I really don’t think we should break the bank to get Dixon back

Team meeting was scheduled for 2pm. It's possible that Coach Malone made the comparison in front of the team and Caleb is simply repeating it. Just a guess of mine

Not as a starter know. I haven't talked to Dixon so I don't know what he wants, though.

No shot at you personally but this is exactly what I'm talking about... Jarin is a fine player. He hasn't cracked the starting lineup in 3 years of power conference ball except for injury scenarios. We can do much, much better. If he wants to play reserve minutes, fine. Acting like he's some kind of athletic unicorn cause he can guard a few different spots is nuts.

Dixon is the type of player you want on your roster. Made clutch plays in multiple games as a freshman. Yes, not a super great athlete, needs to get better laterally. However, you can do a lot worse than a 3 guard rotation of Mingo/Dixon/elite portal guard.

First guard off the bench playing the combo roll. How much will we pay for that?

Dixon would be cool off the bench for me...

I honestly wouldn't give any weight to all our players entering the portal. Everyone should put themselves in the portal, every season, under the current structure of college basketball. Even if you have every intention of returning. If you're in the portal, and someone else offers to double your salary, you have the option of taking it. If you aren't in the portal, you can't do that.

And is he willing to accept an bench/shooter role?

Folks get attached and lose their minds. Dixon isn’t near Jamaal Murray lol.

No not close to same player but Dixon is a priority keep in my mind. If I’m keeping two players from last year it’s him and Henri (obviously excluding seniors and Caleb).
