F KU Chant in Ames??

I'm not trying to stir sh*t here, but I swear they were chanting F KU at the end of the game in Ames. I hope I'm wrong, but it sure sounded like it. Can anyone confirm this? If they were, they are absolutely pathetic.

That's a fair point, but I guess I've always held them in a bit higher esteem than KSU & MU. You just had one of the bigger wins in program history and your focus is on KU. Appreciate the respect out of those clowns, but it's a loser mentality from another fan base that has never won a single game that matters nationally in the history of football or basketball.

Always at the end of the Mr. Brightside song, so yes they were chanting F-KU. Otzelberger didn’t look too happy on the SVP interview, either.

Of course they did, as soon as I heard the song come on it was obvious it was coming. Remember when creighton did it? That one was weird to me I actually laugh about it and it makes me feel warm inside

Would be nice if announcers would call it out every time fans do that and basically shame them on national TV. If they draw attention to it, maybe schools would feel obligated to try and control it. But it seems like they don't want their viewers to be aware of what's being chanted.

I’m surprised Scott Van Pelt didn’t bring the chant up, in a way, he did, he mentioned Self and the Jayhawk crowd and their recent win over Arizona. He does not seem to shy away from controversy, but I guess that word is not allowed. Maybe some brave broadcaster will discuss on air an unusual cheer than seems to be shared by numerous schools in the Big 12 and elsewhere. Fran and John S do not the balls to do it, and they are exposed to it more than anyone else. Yeah, Otzelberger seems pissed about something, maybe it was the cheer or brush by handshake by Sampson.

Booing and F KU. Something those small minded fan bases are most known for.

ONLY Reason I ever liked Tang was how in his first year he was like, "We're not going to do that here." .........then, OF COURSE, it just came back in a yr. or two anyway.

7 Rd. Gms. this Season.......only heard that in Manhattan & Ames. ISU fans USED TO say, "We're better than that." Hmmmmmm, really?! Sure didn't seem that way this past Sat. afternoon or Mon. Night. Mizzou fanbase is HARDLY one to have pride in imitating!!

I was at a wedding in STL last summer and they were playing Mr. Brightside and then all of a sudden all of the kids started shouting F KU! I was like “What in the hell is going on here??” I think it’s become a thing in the Midwest any time that song is on.

It says something about Kansas when other team's fanbases are thinking about you even when they're playing another team lol.

I'm surprised it's taking you guys this long to realize ISU fans are on the same level as KSU fans. Cut from the same cloth.

I happened upon a post about this on a KU fan site on Facebook and Iowa State fans are saying they said ISU. No way were they saying that. Big difference in the phonics. At least own up to it. Some KSU fans were saying they say KSU. Maybe they are, but a LOT of fans are definitely saying the derogatory line.
