Moved to 9 game conference schedule and 10 P4 games just for the BIG 10 to cancel games and pay tiny schools to beat instead.
The TV deal being 300 million a year for the conference while the Big 10s is 7 years 7 billion is worrying. They can throw around a lot of money

Pretty much. Sankey has been very unimpressive the last few years to say the least.

We will see what the payout difference is when the Big10 releases its 2025 #s later on. SEC schools getting a total of about 73 million each this year.
The TV rights stuff is temporary. You look at the ratings. In 2033-2034 the SEC Network deal and the ESPN/ABC TV deal expire in the same year. ESPN/ABC will be ponying up massive money.

Big 10 has navigated the new landscape better than the SEC by all appearances. 9 game conference schedule will only further set the SEC back.
12 team playoff and current NIL regime shifts the balance of power north.

What pisses me off is the big ten said when we go to 9 it would then agree to 16 team playoff and still didn’t do it.

21Dawg said:Kang is correct. the 300M annually was just for the old CBS #1 SEC game each week. there is a larger SEC ABC deal that covers all of the other SEC games in total the SEC TV money is a bit less but within a few percentage points as the Big10 set a record deal across networks. The Big10 will re-up and get a raise first as well (3-4 years earlier).Moved to 9 game conference schedule and 10 P4 games just for the BIG 10 to cancel games and pay tiny schools to beat instead. Wouldn’t you want to pump the numbers up to sound as big as possible?Kang is correct. the 300M annually was just for the old CBS #1 SEC game each week. there is a larger SEC ABC deal that covers all of the other SEC games in total the SEC TV money is a bit less but within a few percentage points as the Big10 set a record deal across networks.
