I’m usually slow to be the “fire the coach” guy, but I’ve seen all I need to see with Mike White. Time to admit our mistake and move on.

Time to go find one of these young, energetic, successful mid major coaches and start over. That's what UF did with Todd Golden. If UF can win at a high level, UGA can too.

UF had two NCs before Golden even got there, they're a basketball powerhouse. If you think this athletic administration is capable of turning UGA into a basketball powerhouse, then bless your heart.

There are 8 million reasons he won't be fired anytime soon. In contrast the buyout for the NC coach is a little more than $5 million. Also, UGA was 10th in the SEC in NIL for Basketball.....and they finished 10th in the league. But there is no excuse for the team quitting on him and embarrassing the University like that. They had to go on a 17-2 run to end the game to lose by 25.

He has raised the bar in terms of accomplishments for a UGA coach in the last two years more than any other UGA basketball coach. Not saying he’s above criticism, but he had us in B2B tourneys. That’s not a fireable offense at UGA. Not yet at least

Last night was more on the players than the coach. If you watched that game and your first thought was coaching then we watched a different game. Coach K could’ve been UGA’s coach and would’ve gotten blown out with the effort the players played with. Now, is there stuff Mike White needs to be better at? Absolutely and yeah his Xs and Os stuff can be frustrating to watch every game but let’s put the blame of last night where it belongs

Well he has a pattern of his teams across multiple seasons appearing to give little effort in post season games. Lots of blame to go on the players for sure but that’s three straight post season games across two years where we’ve come out flat. That isn’t just a player issue.

Let’s go get Huey Blalock. He’ll fill some seats next season.

Not like last night.. last year against Gonzaga wasn’t an effort thing it was very much a coaching deal. Our players were checked out from the tip. 2 min into the game I watch Ross walk defending a back cut. At that point I realized it didn’t matter what the game plan was

I have been consistent since the day White got hired that he was a floor raiser but not a ceiling raiser and that is exactly what he has done. I knew too many Bull Gators who were ecstatic when we hired him. Having said all that, I do think he deserves at least one more year after having taken us to back to back tournament appearances for the first time in 25 years.

But it’s the HC responsibility to have his team ready to play. What we saw was very little to no effort. Using your continuing reasoning “it was the player’s fault not CMW” do we need a HC? Just get the players to the game site, send them out to play.

UF was pathetic in basketball BEFORE Billy Donavan was hired. Their administration made a decision to change the culture of their basketball program by making a change and hiring the RIGHT coach. THREE national championships later I would say they made the right decision and their program is still thriving…..all because their leadership had the guts to pull the trigger and strive for a better program. I REFUSE to believe UF has more advantages than UGA to win championships. Like CKS said - you are either elite or you are not!! WHY not try and be elite???? If we had this mentality in football we would still have Ray Goff, Jim Donnan, or Mark Richt. Good coaches, but not championship elite coaches like Kirby! Heck any sport, not just football…..at least try and be elite and quit settling for mediocrity. What have we got to lose by pulling the trigger?? There is no way it can be anymore embarrassing than that first round loss we just witnessed. I’d rather not even make the tournament and get embarrassed on national tv. Lack of leadership from the top down results in a rotten fish!!

Hell even UF when they hired Billy D wasn’t a basketball powerhouse. Making the correct hire (a coach capable of winning it all) and then providing said coach with resources. UGA wouldn’t even have to be the highest spender with the right coach as the state has more than enough talent to build a good team if you can get 1-2 to do the Ant man deal of staying at home for a fair $ but not breaking the bank. Kirby is able to do it and the right coach could in BBall too. (Yes like even with Kirby there will always be certain guys that won’t take less than full market value BUT the state has so much talent yearly it can be done with the right coach…mostly likely with actual AAU connections.)

Don’t you think that it is the head coaches responsibility to have his players ready to play? Mentally and physically they should have been foaming at the mouth like a rabid dawg to go play hard with effort and intensity. If he can’t motivate them to play hard then he should have never recruited them to play for him to start with. CMW is who we thought he was. He has a pattern and is living up to his billing. You KNOW exactly what you are going to get with him. The best predictor of the future is the past history. UF had NO issue with him going to UGA. They were glad they didn’t have to fire him.

Generally speaking, if a coach in any sport demonstrates they aren’t capable of at least competing for championships in their sport, I don’t see the point of keeping them on.
