What are your thoughts on him? He doesn’t check all the boxes but I think he could be successful here. I dont think we can land the tier 1 options. Young. Great recruiter. Can prove to flip a roster quickly. Finished top 3 in the ACC in his first year. Left dook and ticked some people off there. Maybe?

If we had fired Hubert last year, which was justifiable, we could've had Ryan Odom.

We can’t miss on this hire. He might go down as the best coach the game has ever known, but we can’t roll the dice on a guy with as little experience as he has.

Folks don’t want to hear it but that top tier is going to be a hard get. Not that we can’t get one of them but it’s not as open and shut as some may think

I would have him far higher than most on this board. Golden and Oats are non-starters to me. I’m very iffy on it Lloyd, May, or TJ would have interest. If they aren’t interested, I’d have Jai at the top of tier 2 candidates.

Would Fred Hoiberg take the call? Deep Midwest roots but a heck of a coach. And no baggage like oats and golden

Jai seriously could be called. Just look what he did in one year at Miami. He’s a good coach, especially on defense and an elite recruiter.

If you cannot get one of your top 3 choices you should consider …….
1). Who can motivate young peoples’ mindsets, today’s branding, NBA’s player development, etc.?
2) Has proven connections with agents, EYBL, etc. for a quick rebuild and maybe good transition year?
3). Is young and upcoming?
4) Would be a thorn in Dukes side?
5) Beat us soundly and would be an upgrade to current situation?
6)Should be gettable unless UNC reputation is worse off than we thought!
I said if our top 3 choices do not pan out. But he might need to be our top choice with igniting the future of our program including stadium decisions.
Jai Lucas.

Open up a full search and put him in the hopper with everyone else. If he is the best candidate then hire him

Weve got to get back to the top in a year or that gap will continue to grow. Carolina is not viewed the same with the players and coaches coming up either. IMO. That hurts as much as anything.Folks don’t want to hear it but that top tier is going to be a hard get. Not that we can’t get one of them but it’s not as open and shut as some may think

Personally i want someone with a proven track record and has shown success post-NIL. It is a short list, but this is UNC. It SHOULD be a short list.If you cannot get one of your top 3 choices you should consider ……. 1). I don’t think the top tier guys are realistic. Lucas is probably in my top 3.

We’d be better off keeping Hubert than pulling the penny slot on Jai Lucas. Some of yall are talking posters for how Vegas makes money…
