So I know who I'm rooting for.
Not worth getting emotionally connected or invested in guys that can leave at the drop of a hat
We cheer for laundry worn by paid mercenaries. At least in the NFL they have contracts
We are on the good end of it in hoops right now but it's the same thing. Hard to really view Yaxel as "ours". He is here for the bag. Great kid and great player but let's be real about it

Yeah, portal season is the new recruiting season and has replaced the signing day extravaganza as the chaotic F5 thing to follow. But I am with you... so much turnover it is hard to get emotionally invested this time of year.
With regards to hoops, unfortunately is is title or bust or now. There is no "next year" because it could be a whole different team. You gotta take advantage now. This team is borderline historic so far but if they don't win it all it will feel like a failure. Weird to say that since we haven't won a title since 1989 and final fours are hard to come by but it's reality. This team has everything it needs to win it all and should.

Not really mad about any of our current losses so far except Sullivan, but I agree with your general premise. CFB is in a very sad state at the moment. The bottom is bound to drop soon

College Sports is a disaster if we are being honest. Contracts have to be put in place.

Excited to see the future guys during the early season blowouts get run late in the games. Between graduation, early NFL entry and now the portal it seems like you turn over about 1/2 the roster minimum every year.So I know who I'm rooting for. I get it… at the very least we’ll probably have the most enjoyable on the field product in 2026 than we’ve had in several years.

I thought the Pete Carroll-Nick Saban era of college football was horrible. It was painfully obvious that a few schools were cheating massively, Bama had the #1 recruiting class something like 13 out of 15 years and for the most part, the rest of the country had very little chance of competing for a NC. It's pretty amazing parity we are seeing now. I love it.Not really mad about any of our current losses so far except Sullivan, but I agree with your general premise. It’s a mess but the portal makes the offseason very interesting if we’re being honest

Right. Honestly, I don't understand how anyone can get so into all of the player movement and take it so seriously.
It is what it is. See who's on team after the last portal and then start caring.

Nexu said:Right, I think I do enjoy this era more than the "Bama-Clemson play in the title every year" stretch. With regard to the bottom dropping out, because all the big schools can all simply out pay the smaller schools now, I don't know if there's going to be enough desire from big time programs to push for change. Maybe the spending gets so ridiculous that schools eventually say "enough is enough, we need to put a salary cap on this", but IDK when that would happen.People say that the bottom is going to drop but I'm not sure I see it. I hate that I don't really care which high school players we're recruiting anymore. National Signing Day used to be so much fun. The other day I was trying to remember who even played on the hoops team 2 years ago (Juwan's last year). It took me a while to come up with some names. Olivier Nka..., Nka..., not gonna play here anymore. Lleywellyn..oh yeah forgot about him. Joey Baker .. which team was he on again?Yeah, portal season is the new recruiting season and has replaced the signing day extravaganza as the chaotic F5 thing to follow.
