Not sure where you heard those rumors but i haven't heard of him being sent another extension yet. I'm sure it's coming, though.

I don't think signing a contract would have any effect on him taking another job if he wanted.

Tim I’ve heard rumors through back channels that he is unhappy with the lack of cargo shorts in Tuscaloosa and they have a surplus in Chapel Hill

Think he’s waiting for a new arena or the Michigan state job to open up

To me, I would be concerned about Oats staying at Bama. Kansas and UNC are both better jobs in my opinion. Not saying I think he’s leaving or acting like I know anything about his contract. Those programs are 2 of the truest blue bloods in CBB, like Bama is in football, and they’ll make it tough to say no. I absolutely hope Oats stays, I think Byrne will get it done but acting like Oats leaving isn’t a reality is being dishonest.

Nate said he is leaving this unsigned until Byrne walks in with a few back-page strippers from Bourbon Street.

Makes you wonder if he would take a discount or chip in his own money to lower the buyout if he wants out of Tuscaloosa that bad?It doesn’t sound like there is much interest on the UNC side of things (and some dude saying Oats reached out through “back channels” before there was much smoke about the job being open is bs)

Rumor out there is that Oats is holding back on signing the contract until every player gets assigned a designated fall guy, so he doesn’t have to deal with any more issues on that front
