SC Baseball… show me the money

Baseball is now 7-34 against power conference competition under Maneri. Assuming the $5 million budget per season (which is that of a Single A team) that’s $714,000 per win. If Maneri were fired tonight he’d have made $371,000 per power victory EXCLUDING any buyout. Shut it down if all the administration is going to do is keep stealing people’s money. It’s a giant middle finger in the face of the average Carolina to watch this money lit on fire. FWIW the same exact post can be made about Paris.

How much for each football win last year? It's ok, Ray says it's cyclical.

Agree and then some. Never thought I would see things get this bad. And that's an understatement. Paris coming back is stealing.

I’m going to become an Amway distributor to make extra cash. The school could use the extra funds to make another mayonnaise bowl.

I wonder what is going through the minds of any fans that have been giving 10K+ over the past decade. The Golden, Platinum and Diamond Spurs. They have donated over 100K since 2017. Either upset to the extent that they are questioning their level of giving. Or the opposite since that amount of disposable income is exactly that. To be disposed on an emotional whim.

Monte Lee needs to go. Pissed away 2 great pitching performances Friday and Saturday along with the offensive body of work. Days like today happen.

Do you think Tanner is even a little embarrassed by this mess he created?

I'm ready for a change. This will be my first positive baseball post in a while though. Even in our darkest of times they have made the NCAA Tournament 7-14 years assuming they don't make it this year of course. It can be fixed with changes They cannot afford to keep Paw Paw. He was let go by LSU for a reason or two. Make a change and this can get right.

Thats the shocking part. RT seems oblivious to the mess of men's sports he created as AD. There are a number of posters on here harshly attacking Donati but he inherited an absolute mess. This mess wasn't made overnight and it can't be corrected overnight.

Jeremiah Donati was named athletic director December 5, 2024. He's had plenty of time to begin correcting the problems and has yet to make any changes despite historically terrible seasons in baseball and basketball. He said last year that more financial resources would be put into MBB. We just had another terrible season and his answer is more financial resources.

Yeah, the "he's the new guy" excuse is off the table w/ the recent retaining of Paris. You have 2 consecutive bottom-of-the-SEC finishes, and 3 out of 4 seasons were piss poor. The one good season is easily explained as an outlier - we had Cooper from Dorman looking to xfer back to SC for his last season, we had Mack just up the road playing at Wofford, and we had CMB in Cola. This rare combination of perfect fit players for Lamont's system being either close by or trying to come to the state of SC was a gift for him, and it will not often be the case. The guy was 4th or 5th down our list when he was hired, he has never won a tourney game, his only other appearance w/ Chattanooga was based on a last second miracle shot in his conference championship. He's demonstrated that he's in over his head, and there's no legitimate hope of him getting it turned around. But yet we retained him for yet another season. Using the EXACT same reasoning as last year - "he just needs more NIL." DoNothingDonati has earned his nickname.

Manieri. Calling him Do Nothing Donati before the season is over seems premature. I get people wanted Paris fired, but not firing him seems to be in service to being able to fire Manieri and perhaps Beamer, too.

And my point was that maybe in service to a larger goal, which has yet to play out.

What is the larger goal, being bottom of the SEC in men's basketball for a third year in a row?
