But we got the best coach in the SEC. UT is very overrated in bball.

I wonder if that has more to do with Mike White. I'll never understand it but a lot of people thought and still think we were unreasonable/unfair to him when he was pushed out.

Texas will always be viewed highly simply because of the money potential. They don't have a great basketball history, nor do their fans rank among the best in the conference. They've made the elite eight 3 times and never made a final four. A lot of first round knockouts.

Having Texas and Tennessee over us with zero national titles is crazy work, I think it should be Kentucky, Arkansas, Florida

Florida HS basketball isn’t good. Theres the developmental schools using the weather in the state but overall we don’t care. This isn’t very surprising. Also multiple P5 schools in a state with a low talent pool.

I don’t really understand it. We’ve been top to bottom the best or second best team in the conference for 25 years now. We’ve won national championships under multiple coaches. We’ve made the Final Four under 3 coaches. Our last 4 coaches all made the Elite Eight. I understand not being ahead of Kentucky, but don’t get how we aren’t 2. We clearly have decent enough NIL to be paying 3 guys who could’ve gone to the draft last year along with 2 of the top players out of the portal.

I think its just a perception we have of being a Football first program.

Also, these are coaches... we have higher expectations than 2-4. Mike White caught a lot of shit here. Im sure theres a "pressure" argument to be made here

I think we should be 2 or 3, but I think the numbers show it’s a pretty clear tier break after 5, think you can rearrange 2-5 in most any way you want, tho I don’t really get Tennessee being in there personally.

and texas is known for football not basketball. it is probably based more on the resources given the coaches.

Arky and Tennessee above UF is asinine… and I’m not so sure that oil money has the discernible competitive advantage that it appears to in football.

I think Mike White probably voted us last (if they let SEC coaches vote). He wasn’t treated unfairly. He got paid and they kept him a lot longer then they should have.

They spend NIL money and have had a great 6 years.

By that logic, UK would be the worst. They have unrealistic expectations. There coaches lose their job if they don’t win multiple natties.

Don’t think they spend that much more than us and still haven’t made a final 4. Top end success matters IMO

Im not saying its the only logic applied. I just said it could be applied at UF. Im not implying its the only variable in the equation. Im also just speculating because we have no idea what coaches think, so yeah. It could be wrong. However, UK has other things UF doesnt that outweighs negatives of a certain job. Like, money. You put up with the pressure if your at UK because they funnel more money into basketball. We pretty much have the same expectations of UK with probably less money. Again, its just speculation though. So, who knows?
