The VALUE Leavitt would bring to UTK

It’s not my money but the ROI could be there. We land Leavitt and we are the talk of college football for a while. Recently, we’ve been the talk of college football for a bad reason. This super sought after QB1 does a lot for the university of Tennessee, and is a further example of how serious the donors/university is to win. Even if we don’t get him. I’m impressed by the effort, but man that would be a hell of a statement if we flip him.

Unless he comes in and puts up Heisman numbers there is no ROI for the rumored price. Being the talk of college football in January doesn’t do much for you long term.

It’s a risk for sure, but Carson beck would disagree and like I said. It’s not my money

LSU fans think there’s a donor that wants to stick it to Kiffin and get Leavitt. I would die laughing if that is found to be true.

Definitely wild catting it. Reap the rewards or flame out.

Sticking it to Lane also raises his value for everyone on Tennessee’s side. LSU also comes to Neyland next season. More reasons to pay up other than his pure skill.

I get it, but before the playoff run everyone was laughing at Miami for paying him. The ROI is entirely in the win column. Nothing more, nothing less.

Yeah @Aguilar4heisman, update your header please. This is UT and nobody gives a crap what an internal email looks like.

Yep, not saying it’s not, but I will say when it’s all said and done they will be glad they paid.

If so I hope it’s Clay Travis just so he will shit talk Lane about it.

Not sure why that bothers some people. I graduated from UT and it was pretty common to say “UTK”, especially being from Chattanooga where “UTC” was so common to say. As was mentioned, it was UTK.EDU on my email. Does it somehow lessen the quality of the school to say UTK? Is this somehow a Texas thing about being the “real UT”?

Lol brotha. If it was up to me we’d be UT. But you’re preaching to the wrong choir. Every students email at Tennessee ends with @utk.edu . Sorry if that bothers you but our own university refers to us as utk🤣

People crying about it clearly never went to Tennessee.

I don’t mind people having other opinions. I just genuinely don’t know why some have an issue with it.

Wow, not getting it are you. And yes TN is my alma mater. They refer to only "within" the UT system.

Pretty simple. Because we are the University of Tennessee. Better stated I don't get why it doesn't bother you. We'll agree to disagree.

I agree to disagree. I think we can be the university of tennessee and the university of Tennessee in Knoxville at the same time. I love the city of Knoxville just as much as I love the state of Tennessee.

Can you imagine the convo with your wife (or husband)? "I'm gonna get Lane, babe. We're gonna pay this kid $6.5 million and that'll show Lane."

If you are going to spend that kind of money, you better get playoff level numbers from him and i am not sure he is capable of that.
