Titans trade away Meatloaf

Titans just swapped T Sweat to the Jets for Jermaine Johnson. Johnson has had a decent career at edge so far. Think it's mainly a scheme fit for Bob's defense. Sweat can play MAYBE 25% of snaps. Wonder if this influences the draft strategy? I imagine they still go edge but maybe not

That was my question. Wonder if they may trade back and look cornerback in the first round.

I tend to think you still take Bailey or Reese, assuming they're available. A nasty DL is hard to find

Yeah, Meatloaf wasn’t a fit in Saleh’s defense. Bob drafted JJ out of FSU so it makes sense. I don’t know if this changes the draft strategy because you can get Bain to play SDE and double down. But, I’ve said this for two months……..don’t count out ❤️………it’s a tough positional value decision but if you want to help your QB and understand the DNA of your franchise………

Curious how this impacts draft strategy. I’m ignorant to what the Titans need… Would be really high for Love or Tate.

I know it will never happen, but would be nice to trade down to #7 with Washington, who is looking to shore up defense. They would love Bain. We then draft Love at 7.

I think they’ll draft Bain or Tate with the 4th pick. More than likely Bain.

If Reese or Bailey is there at 4, they're taking either of them over Bain.

Downs or Love at 4 and go get Hendrickson

Apparently Bain does have T-Rex arms……he might slide.

Reese does nothing for me. Another potential guy that doesn't have a true position. You win with guys like Bain and Bailey

It should be defense. JJ is not a guaranteed starter.

Love at 4 would be such a brutally awful pick considering where this roster is.

I disagree. I take Bain, then Bailey. Reese isn't it

No, he wouldn’t. If you can get a Bijan, C-Mac, Saquan level back in this draft, that is kind of short on playmakers……..you do it. Plus, every good era of your franchise has featured a great back. Downs and Love are the two best players in this draft, period.

I disagree wholeheartedly, but to each their own. You can get very strong RB play for cheap in the NFL. I guarantee you the Raiders regret the Jeanty pick, and it’s not because he’s not a great RB. Also, the examples you provided have made a combined 2 playoff appearances by the teams that drafted them.

In theory, I don’t disagree with you that you can find a decent RB at the NFL’s version of Wal-Mart. But in the Titans case, you have two bluechip players on the whole roster at the moment. If you can get a bluechip guy who touches the ball 20+ plays a game…….it changes the math some. You draft Cam in 25, Love in 26, and then get the best WR available in a deep 2027 class, and you’re cooking.

I would love for the titans to trade back. Just so many needs. Tate @4 is way too high for me. Love is a great pick but that would require strong investment in FA OL which they have the cap for

If Tate had come to Tennessee, folks would be begging the titans to take him.

And everyone who doesn’t take him will regret it. Dude is going to be an animal. He reminds me of the type of guy tht other teams say “well his arms are too short” and then he slides to the ravens or Steelers and is a 6 time pro bowler 🤦‍♂️

it’s true that every good titans era has featured a great back, but at the same time, we’ve never won a Super Bowl. Maybe time to switch it up. I haven’t kept up, but why is Tate the automatic choice over Tyson?

I’m not a fan of Bailey. To me, he is a Tyree Wilson type of player. More of a situational guy.

Lengthy injury history for Tyson is the main reason. He’s still rehabbing a hamstring injury from 4+ months ago and is not participating at the combine.

I mean it makes sense. If Brazzell falls to second round I think it would be a great pick for Tennessee. Winning is number 1 but marketability is important too. It’s why it was stupid to take Levis over Hooker. Both were big question marks with high ceilings and low floors, but in hindsight, now that we know neither were NFL material, the titans would’ve at least sold more jerseys and had more interest statewide. I’d bet they actually lost interest in east TN when they picked Levis. I stopped watching and rooted for them to lose so we could get rid of that dumb Kentucky QB and get high draft picks so we could turn it around faster. Was worried we would end up going like 7-10 and end up in the NFL purgatory where we were too good to get a top pick and too bad to contend.
