Exactly. You can't lay this on BB and Lombo. Some trash BB & Lombo over NC HS relations and yet, here is a whole 7 rounds and 6 years of 100% support of the NC HS programs by a HC and Staff and tell me just exactly what that got us? let me help you out - NOT A DANG THING. Not a single player from UNC drafted. If we get 4 more years down the road and don't have a single player drafted, I will take up that cause. We have recruited the hell out of NC HS kids forever and take Hampton and Maye and a few others got drafted, but many left the state for other schools. You want allegiance, then these HS coaches that are complaining, need to start sending their players to UNC or quit complaining.

They brought in 70 new players and 0 of them were draft picks. The two most likely draft picks next year aren't their guys either. You can absolutely put some blame on them.

Nah, it’s plenty you can lay at their feet but not finding a drafted player in their first portal class isn’t one of them. Like 44 said, it can be from here on out though.

According to On3’s Transfer Portal rankings, we were literally the highest ranked transfer class last year that didn’t contain a single player selected in this draft I know the portal rankings aren’t perfect (as proved by our team last year) but it’s a good demonstration of how in-demand the players were and how and a general sense of how much NIL was spent

this is def on the previous staff. BB 1st class recruits aren't even eligible to be drafted yet and his even better 2nd class hasn't played a snap yet. Not sure how anyone can say this is on BB. Yeah he brought in a lot thru the portal but we all know that the 1st portal is the hardest since work on the portal starts months before it actually opens. This years portal had a few good players that can still be developed so we'll see how that turns out.

Bill’s first transfer class was literally the highest ranked without a drafted player and there was plenty he recruited that were draft elligible

When you come in preaching 33rd NFL franchise and pro development, it’s a tad embarrassing to not develop anyone on the roster into at least a 7th round pick, regardless of whose players they were. I get it’s only one year but come on. And it’s not like the talent level has really increased much for year two…

Not taking sides in this arguement, but the 25 portal class was inflated by how many transfers they signed. Dixon was probably the only guy expected to be drafted from that group, and he missed the majority of the season.

Hilarious to see the same goofies asking for a year 1 mulligan for basketball already because “late start” to portal even though it was before the portal opened . lol try getting hired after the portal and having to fill 65- 70 spots…. Bunch of hypocrites. I say that as someone who expects patience across both sports but wild to see these dudes with double standards

I’m not sure how On3 does it, but 247 caps the amount of players in the class that counts towards the ranking (like 20 or 25 I think). Same story on 247, ranking of 9 and the highest without a drafted player. On there, there were 3 more transfers in the top 100 (though one was House, not an NFL prospect) in addition to Dixon

Isn’t it hypocritical of you to slam Malone (which you have despite your “patience”) but defend Belichick? Feel free to start the thread next year if neither Able or Neo or the international replacements for Henri are NBA players AND we don’t finish as a top 60 team next year I’d also say a big difference that Malone inherited the old GM while Bill hand picked the village idiot

The powers that be gave 4million to Mack to recruit when the best had 20. The day he was fired they cut a check for 20 million because they knew it was going to 40.
