Lancaster (Texas) three-star running back Izayah Lee has committed to Vanderbilt, he announced on Saturday.

He chose the Commodores after taking an official visit to Nashville last weekend. He also considered the likes of SMU, TCU and Kansas.

Lee is the No. 521 overall prospect and No. 34 RB in the 2026 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 75 player in Texas.

Vandy head coach Clark Lea and his staff have dipped into the Lone Star State once again this cycle. Lee is the second Texan to join the Commodores’ 2026 class, following Katy Paetow three-star defensive lineman Daryl Campbell, who pledged last month.

The Vandy class now features nine total commits and ranks inside the top 40 of the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings. Lee and Campbell are two of the top three prospects in the class to date.

As a junior for Lancaster, Lee rushed for nearly 1,300 yards and 24 touchdowns. The Dores originally offered in January and now have the 5-foot-11 burner in the mix.

More on Vandy Recruiting

Checking in ahead of Lee and Campbell is Brownsville (Tenn.) Haywood four-star cornerback Caden Harris. A top-100 recruit and the No. 3 player in Tennessee this cycle, Harris chose Vandy on April 29 and is the class jewel for Lea and Co.

“They’ve always treated me as a top priority and built that relationship with me the right way,” Harris told On3’s Chad Simmons. “After my freshman season, they offered and they have been recruiting me hard since. From our first conversation, from my first visit, I always felt the love. Before I had the other offers, stars and all that, Vanderbilt recruited me and wanted me.”

Harris is the lone in-state commit for Vandy thus far. Seven states are already represented in the class: Tennessee, Texas, California, Illinois, Florida, Alabama and Ohio.

Back in September, San Fransisco Archbishop Riordan three-star quarterback Michael Mitchell Jr. committed. The gunslinger is now the No. 32 QB in the nation heading into his senior campaign.

“I’ve built a great relationship with coach (Tim) Beck who has been able to have success everywhere he has been at,” Mitchell told On3. “I look forward to playing for a Coach who is a competitor like me and will help me develop as a QB and leader.”

Other commits in the Vandy class include: La Grange Park (Ill.) Mount Carmel three-star EDGE Joey Quinn, Naples (Fla.) CSON three-star interior offensive lineman George Haseotes, Tuscaloosa (Ala.) Hillcrest three-star wide receiver Kahden Smith, Sarasota (Fla.) Booker three-star safety Karaijus Hayes and Cincinnati St. Xavier three-star athlete Daniel Vollmer.
