An update on Florida QB situation heading into game vs. Georgia

Florida appears to be on the verge of a quarterback change heading into its game against No. 1 Georgia.
The expectation is that redshirt freshman Anthony Richardson will be the Gators’ starting QB against the Bulldogs, sources tell On3.
Redshirt junior Emory Jones has been Florida’s starter through the team’s first seven games.
It would be the first career start for Richardson, who stepped in for Jones during the second half of the Gators’ last game, a 49-42 loss to LSU October 16. Richardson, a former four-star recruit, accounted for touchdowns on each of Florida’s first four second half drives against LSU.

Jones, who had two first half interceptions against LSU, is ranked eighth among SEC starting quarterbacks in QB rating (138.42). Excluding a four touchdown performance against Vanderbilt, Jones has more interceptions (nine) than total touchdowns (eight) in the Gators’ other six games.
Florida (4-3 overall, 2-3 SEC) enters the matchup against Georgia (7-0, 5-0) as a 14-point underdog.
The Bulldogs are led by the nation’s No. 1 ranked defense. Georgia has limited opponents to an average 6.6 points per game and is yet to allow more than 13 points in any individual game.
