On3

The latest AP Poll Top 25 rankings are here following Week 8 of the college football season and prepare to debate! Based on the results from the weekend, teams are surely going to jump, fall and well, maybe stand pat!

Georgia edged out Ole Miss in a thriller, Ohio State and Indiana remained dominant, Notre Dame is back and much more! Oh yeah, Miami was upset, as well as Texas Tech!

So let’s dive into the latest AP Poll rankings following Week 8. We’ll start with the top of the list.

1. Ohio State

Ohio State dominated Wisconsin 34-0 to stay atop the AP Poll this week. Julian Sayin looked like a pro QB against the Badgers.

Sayin threw for 393 yards and four touchdowns! The Buckeyes seem like they are on cruise control at this point.

2. Indiana (+1)

Indiana just keeps winning, man. The Hoosiers beat Michigan State 38-13 at home after a slow start, avoiding the post-Oregon letdown.

Fernando Mendoza threw for 332 yards and four touchdowns in this one, helping Indiana stay high up the AP Poll. At this rate, start preparing for Ohio State vs. Indiana for the Big Ten title.

3. Texas A&M (+1)

Texas A&M stayed unbeaten and high atop the AP Poll this week after a shootout win over Arkansas. Marcel Reed was the star on offense for the Aggies.

He threw for 280 yards and three touchdowns as well as 55 yards on the ground with a rushing touchdown. Rueben Owens II had 69 yards and two touchdowns to add on.

4. Alabama (+2)

Alabama beat Tennessee and had victory cigars afterwards! Everything is coming up Crimson Tide and Kalen DeBoer.

They’ve steadily climbed back up the AP Poll with their sixth straight win on the season. We’re back to considering Alabama a national title contender.

5. Georgia (+4)

Georgia is high up the AP Poll and in SEC contention, so it seems like it’s the status quo in the conference. The Bulldogs beat Ole Miss in a thriller on Saturday.

The fourth quarter rally was awesome for the home crowd in Athens and Kirby Smart’s crew is coming into its own again. Gunner Stockton was the star, throwing for 289 yards, running for 59 and had five total touchdowns.

6. Oregon (+2)

Oregon dominated Rutgers on the road Saturday evening and were on cruise control by halftime. In the 56-10 win, the Ducks put up an absurd 750 yards of offense.

Dante Moore tossed four touchdowns in the win and it seemed like Oregon could do no wrong. It was a nice way for this AP Poll top 10 team to right the ship after losing to Indiana.

7. Georgia Tech (+5)

Georgia Tech is in the AP Poll top 10 and here to stay! The Yellow Jackets are 7-0 on the season following a 27-18 win over Duke.

Haynes King threw for 205 yards and ran for another 105 on the ground and had a touchdown. In a 10-10 game in the fourth quarter, GT outscored the Blue Devils 17-8.

8. Ole Miss (-3)

Ole Miss stayed in the top 10 of the AP Poll this week despite its first loss of the season. It looked like Lane Kiffin finally had the right stuff for a massive SEC win like this over Kirby Smart and Georgia.

But it was not to be as the Rebels were shutout in the fourth quarter and gave up 17 in the 43-35 loss. Trinidad Chambliss had 263 yards and one touchdown passing, but led the team in rushing with just 42 yards and two scores.

9. Miami (-7)

Miami suffered an upset loss Friday night so they had an extra day to stew over it. In the 24-21 loss, Carson Beck was picked off four times.

Still, the Hurricanes are a top 10 team in the AP Poll, but have some competition in the ACC with Georgia Tech rolling. Mario Cristobal will have to right the ship fast.

10. Vanderbilt (+7)

Vanderbilt knocked off LSU this weekend and improve to 6-1 on the season. So with that, welcome to the top 10 of the AP Poll!

Diego Pavia threw for 160 yards, one touchdown, ran for 86 yards and had two rushing touchdowns. He even struck the Heisman pose, for good reason!
