AP Poll Top 25: College Football Rankings see shake up after Week 9

The latest AP Poll Top 25 rankings are here following Week 9 of the college football season and prepare to debate! Based on the results from the weekend, teams are surely going to jump, fall and well, maybe stand pat!
The SEC is absolutely loaded with plenty of CFP contenders, the Big Ten has a three-horse race right now and the Big 12 race is really heating up now! Hey, about the top of the ACC and the Group of Five getting a shakeup?
So let’s dive into the latest AP Poll rankings following Week 9. We’ll start with the top of the list.
1. Ohio State
Ohio State remained atop the AP Poll this week despite not playing. Indiana is hot on their tail, but experts might make the Buckeyes the favorite on a neutral field right now.
They’re on a collision course for the Big Ten Championship matchup too. But as of now, the Buckeyes, as the defending champs, might be the favorite to repeat!
2. Indiana

Indiana dominated UCLA and the Bruins’ Cinderella-type run is over for now. The Hoosiers just keep winning and winning emphatically.
Fernando Mendoza had four total touchdowns in the win as Indiana is 8-0 and vying for the No. 1 spot in the AP Poll. Curt Cignetti can do no wrong right now.
3. Texas A&M
Texas A&M improved to 8-0 as well with a 49-25 win over LSU. That was after trailing 18-14 at halftime before turning it on.
The Aggies get a bye week so they won’t be vastly affected in the AP Poll next week. But Mike Elko and crew have a key road game against Missouri in a couple of weeks. But right now, Texas A&M is the SEC’s top dog.
4. Alabama
Alabama won its seventh game in the row after losing to Florida State during the first game. That certainly seems like a fluke now right?
The Crimson Tide continued their climb towards the top of the AP Poll by beating South Carolina. Ty Simpson found Germie Bernard for a 25-yard touchdown and the win over the Gamecocks.
5. Georgia

Georgia beat Ole Miss last week, had a weekend off and just chilled in the AP Poll top 10 rankings. Kirby Smart and the Bulldogs are primed for the stretch run.
Next up is rival Florida, but Georgia should be a big favorite in that one. Still, Georgia has Texas and Georgia Tech in two of the final three weeks of November which could make or break their SEC and CFP chances.
6. Oregon
Oregon struggled a bit with Wisconsin in a 21-7 win. Dante Moore took a nasty shot and was gushing blood as he exited the game, but Dan Lanning didn’t seem too worried moving forward.
Still, the Ducks are in the top 10 of the AP Poll, sporting a 7-1 record. They still have an outside shot at the Big Ten title and are firmly in the playoff race.
7. Ole Miss (+1)
Ole Miss improved to 7-1 with a 34-26 win over Oklahoma on the road. The Rebels’ defense buckled down to contain John Mateer, particularly in the end.

This looks like Lane Kiffin’s best shot at a playoff run with Ole Miss. They’re in the top 10 of the AP Poll and also look like a legit SEC title threat.
8. Georgia Tech (-1)

Georgia Tech is 8-0 and it feels like not enough people are talking about it. The Yellow Jackets lead the ACC and are in the top 10 of the AP Poll.
They dominated Syracuse in their most recent outing, winning 41-16. Haynes King had five total touchdowns and nearly 400 yards of offense passing and running.
9. Vanderbilt (+1)
Vanderbilt held on for dear life in the end. The Commodores are 7-1 and still a top 10 team in the AP Poll.
Beauty Pribula’s injury loomed for Missouri in this one, but Vanderbilt took advantage. Clark Lea might actually get this team to the CFP.
T-10. Miami (-1)
Miami struggled in the first half but eventually put Stanford away 42-7 at home. The Hurricanes needed that win after losing to Louisville last week.
They trailed Georgia Tech by a game in the loss column in the ACC, but this is still a top 10 team in the AP Poll. Basically, it’s a two-horse race right now.
T-10. BYU (+1)

BYU rolled their way to an 8-0 record this week. The Cougars beat Iowa State 41-27 on the road, scoring 14 in the fourth quarter to get away from the Cyclones.
Bear Bachmeier threw for 307 yards and two touchdowns while running for 49 and another score. These are the Big 12 front runners right now!
