Carson Beck has led Miami to a 4-0 start and a No. 3 ranking in the latest AP Top 25 poll. None of it was a part of Beck’s plan, though.

Amid Beck’s early success as the Hurricanes starting quarterback, the Miami star took a moment to send a message of thanks toward his former team, Georgia. Beck spent five seasons in Athens and two as its starter.

“Obviously, the way that everything ended was very abrupt,” Beck said. “I wasn’t able to give my thanks, give my appreciation. Obviously, I’m super thankful and appreciative for my five years there. I mean, that’s almost a quarter, like 20% of my life, right? I mean, man, I gave everything that I had to that university.

“Hard fought wins, hard fought losses, right? The the work that we put in there, it’s second to none. I’m so thankful and appreciative just to have the support system that I did have there. I mean, lifelong friends that I’ll have for the rest of my life.”

Beck led the Bulldogs to an SEC Championship bid against Texas last season, but was injured during right before halftime. He was forced to undergo surgery to repair his UCL and missed the College Football Playoffs.

He had one more year of eligibility to play college football after the season, but initially declared for the 2025 NFL Draft. He later withdrew his name from the draft cycle and transferred to Miami. So far, the rest is history.

“The ending was tough because it obviously wasn’t a part of my plan,” Beck continued. “Like, I never wanted it to end that way. I didn’t want to go down in the SEC championship game, get injured and then ultimately end up making the decision to go elsewhere.

“It was never a part of the plan, which, sometimes it’s God’s plan — it’s not your plan. So, just going with that and trusting in Him that ultimately this is where I was supposed to be.”

So far this season, Beck is completing 73.2% (82-112) of his passes for 972 yards, seven touchdowns and three interceptions. He’s helped lead the Hurricanes to victories over ranked Notre Dame and USF teams, and has a win over Florida at home.

All eyes will be on Beck and Miami when the Hurricanes travel to Tallahassee to take on Florida State in a top 25 matchup in the ACC. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. ET live on ABC. By then Georgia fans will already have watched their Bulldogs host Kentucky, so those curious may want to tune in to watch their former QB1 in action.
