Ed Orgeron confronts Alabama fan for greeting him with 'Roll Tide'

Ed Orgeron has been a fan favorite across college football for years now, no matter who you consider your favorite team. Even Alabama fans cannot help but ask Coach O for a picture out in public. However, make sure you do not end the interaction by saying “Roll Tide.”
In a video making rounds on social media, somebody did, and Orgeron took a moment to confront the fan. There was a serious tone to his voice at some points of the conversation. At the same time, Orgeron was laughing and still asked where the fan was from. Unsurprisingly, the answer was Tuscaloosa.
“Now, really?” Orgeron asked. “I wouldn’t say ‘Go Tigers to you after taking a photo.’ Have a good day, man… Just some respect. I mean, what the f***? If you were from LSU, you wouldn’t go to Nick Saban and say ‘Go Tigers,’ would you?”
Orgeron did not have the best record against Alabama during his time in Baton Rouge. Six games against the Crimson Tide saw Orgeron on the losing end on five occasions. Even going back to when Ole Miss employed Coach O, Alabama got the better of him. Three more losses can be added to the resume, coming by a combined nine points — a field goal difference in all of them.

The one win was quite important, though. Going into Tuscaloosa back in 2019 felt like the final hurdle LSU needed before competing for a national championship and the Tigers got the job done. A moment in the postgame locker room also went viral, where Orgeron made his thoughts on Alabama quite clear. He was hyping up his own team before ending with “Roll Tide, what? F*** you” before everyone went crazy.
LSU decided to move on from Orgeron following the 2021 season, two years removed from winning the national title. He has not gotten back into the coaching world. From time to time, Orgeron will pop up in random spots across the country as an offseason speaker or while visiting an old friend.
Fans will continue to love him as well, being one of the sport’s cult heroes. Just making sure the interaction goes a little better than this one particular person appears to be key. If you are going to voice your support for anybody around Orgeron, LSU is the way to go. Nothing about Alabama or letting out a “Roll Tide.”
