ESPN College GameDay announces destination for Week 11
Following this week’s trip to Salt Lake City, ESPN College GameDay has announced its next destination. The show will head to Lubbock for BYU at Texas Tech in Week 11.
This past week’s trip to Cincinnati at Utah marked College GameDay’s sixth trip to Utah. The program previously visited in October 2023 for a matchup with Oregon, which ended in a resounding Ducks victory. Utah legend Alex Smith joined the set as the celebrity guest picker ahead of the matchup with Cincinnati, which entered Week 10 with an undefeated record in Big 12 play.
The Week 11 trip to Lubbock will mark a second appearance in Big 12 country for College GameDay. The Red Raiders and Cougars are squarely in the mix in the conference standings.
Additionally, Utah head coach Kyle Whittingham joined the set live ahead of the Top-25 matchup with Cincinnati. Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian also did a remote interview before the Longhorns’ game against Vanderbilt. That game kicked off ABC’s Week 10 tripleheader.
There were also appearances by Utah Mammoth stars Logan Cooley and Dylan Guenther amid the franchise’s strong start to the year. The Mammoth had an 8-3-1 entering Sunday’s home game against the Tampa Bay Lightning.

Of course, there was also Pat McAfee’s kicking contest, which has been a hit to start the year. Heading into Week 10, McAfee had given away more than $4 million of his own money as both prizes and donations to charity as students continued to make kicks.
College GameDay remained red-hot to start the year as the calendar flipped to November. The show is bringing in record viewership, and its 2.8 million viewers on average, according to Nielsen Big Data + Panel figures. That marks a 28% increase year-over-year.
In fact, the first 10 shows of the year brought in seven of the most-watched regular season programs on record. As a result, College GameDay is tracking toward its biggest year yet from a viewership perspective.
ESPN is also drawing impressive viewership through the first 10 weeks of the 2025 season. The network has seen a 15% increase year-over-year, while ESPN2 is up 10% and ESPNU is up 20%. However, the biggest winner is ABC, which had 21 of the top 25 most-watched games of the season through Week 9. On the whole, ABC is averaging 7.1 million viewers as of Week 10.
