What a weekend of college football. Week 10 gave us an all-time great matchup between the two top teams in the SEC East, with Georgia and Tennessee facing off with a lot of implications on the line. That was only the start, though, and the results from Week 10 have resulted in some interesting movement across ESPN’s FPI Top 25 rankings.

First, the Georgia crowd was fired up from start to finish and for good reason. The Bulldogs played well throughout the game, ultimately defeating Tennessee 27-13. Georgia now sits at 9-0 and in the driver’s seat for both the SEC East and the College Football Playoff top seed.

Elsewhere in the SEC, Alabama and LSU battled in yet another highly anticipated ranked matchup. It took overtime and a gutsy two-point conversion attempt to do it, but the Tigers prevailed with a 32-31 victory over the Crimson Tide.

Additionally, Clemson was handily defeated 35-14 at the hands of Notre Dame. The Tigers struggled throughout, and their hopes for the College Football Playoff took a massive hit in doing so. With Clemson, Alabama and Tennessee all losing, half of the AP-ranked top six fell on Saturday. But it didn’t stop there.

There was one more ranked matchup on Saturday, with NC State and Wake Forest battling in an ACC contest. NC State’s new-look offense under MJ Morris ultimately did enough, and came away with a 30-21 victory.

Plenty of other AP-ranked teams lost in their respective matchups over the weekend, too. Kansas State fell 34-27 to Texas, while Illinois dropped a 23-15 contest against Michigan State. Oklahoma State lost again pretty convincingly, this time falling 37-16 to Kansas. Syracuse suffered another loss as well, losing 19-9 to Pitt. Oregon State entered the AP Top 25 last week, but it was a short stay as the Beavers lost 24-21 to Washington on Friday night.

With College Football Playoff rankings being unveiled every Tuesday, rankings look different across the board. But one thing that will remain true across them all after Week 10 is that things just got shaken up in a massive way.
