Former Texas and Nevada pass-rusher Kristopher Ross is moving forward with the next chapter of his college football career. He’s signed with Sacramento State, On3’s Pete Nakos has confirmed.

Ross played in one game as a true freshman before appearing in Texas’ first three contests of the 2023 season. He then spent one season with Nevada in 2024. Now, he’ll be joining Sacramento State for the 2025 campaign.

Moreover, Ross played high school football at Houston (TX) North Shore, where he was a four-star prospect. He was the No. 178 overall recruit in the 2022 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Rankings, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

With North Shore being one of the best high school programs in the country, Ross was a huge recruiting win for Steve Sarkisian at the time. However, after less than two seasons, the defender’s time with Texas came to an end. Now, he’ll be hoping to reimagine his football career in California.

Meanwhile, Sacramento State looks primed for an exciting new era. In addition to Kristopher Ross, they added former Georgia and Arizona State quarterback, and one-time Florida commit, Jaden Rashada, earlier this offseason.

The former Georgia product is well-traveled at this point, but was a superstar recruit. He initially signed with Florida before backing out of his pledge and landing at Arizona State. He later transferred to Georgia, before once again hitting the NCAA transfer portal to find another program.

The former four-star prospect was a true freshman in 2023 at Arizona State and was able to take a redshirt after appearing in just three games. He started the first two games of the season for the Sun Devils before suffering an undisclosed injury that caused him to miss the next nine games. He returned to play in the regular-season finale against Arizona.

When the dust settled on Rashada’s freshman season, he had completed 44-of-82 passes (53.7%) for 485 yards, four touchdowns and three interceptions. He also carried the ball 14 times for 23 yards.

As a prospect, Rashada was ranked as the No. 73 overall prospect in the 2023 class according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average of all four sites that publish recruiting rankings. He was the nation’s No. 6 quarterback and the No. 6 prospect in California. Rashada will have three years of eligibility remaining with Sacramento State.
