Heisman Trophy Odds: Ranking betting favorites after pivotal Week 13 of College Football
The college football regular season is about to conclude this weekend so the Heisman odds are a bit clearer. BetMGM has shared updated odds to win the most prestigious individual honor in the sport.
At this point, nothing is fully decided. However, it does appear that the quarterbacks are once again leading the charge for the Heisman. This comes a season after the first and second place finishers did not play quarterback. So, while nothing is set in stone, it does appear that’s the direction this year’s award race is headed.
So without further ado, let’s dive into the latest Heisman Trophy odds. We start with the favorite!
1. Fernando Mendoza, QB – Indiana (-105)
Mendoza is the frontrunner for the Heisman Trophy right now with the way he’s played for the Hoosiers. If you’re placing bets, it might be tough to beat the Indiana QB right now.
This season, Mendoza has 2,641 yards, 30 touchdowns (leads FBS), five interceptions and a 73% completion percentage. Indiana is also 11-0 and No. 2 in the country.
2. Jeremiyah Love, RB – Notre Dame (+375)

It’s hard to believe Ashton Jeanty didn’t win the Heisman last year based on his numbers, but a man named Travis Hunter excelled at two positions. Love is perhaps the best player in college football this year though.
He’s second in the odds but it’s easy to see why he could be the winner. This year, he has 1,306 yards (career high), 17 touchdowns (career high), 7.1 yards per carry (career high), 26 catches, 274 receiving yards and three touchdown receptions.
3. Julian Sayin, QB – Ohio State (+400)
Sayin put up more pedestrian numbers the last two weeks, but has been excellent this year. He’s firmly in the Heisman race, hence the odds.
Perhaps he can make or break his chances as Ohio State takes on Michigan this weekend. This year, the sophomore QB has 2,832 yards, 27 touchdowns, four interceptions and an FBS leading 79.4% completion percentage!
4. Diego Pavia, QB – Vanderbilt (+600)
Pavia is still lurking when it comes to the Heisman Trophy race. He has pretty good odds going into the final regular season weekend!
The team aspect looms large, so if he can lead Vandy to a 10th win and potentially the playoff, perhaps he’s got a good shot! This year, he’s having a career year with 2,942 yards, 26 touchdowns, six interceptions, a 71.8% completion percentage, 661 rushing yards and eight rushing touchdowns.
5. Marcel Reed, QB – Texas A&M (+1,300)

Reed is relatively in the same situation as Pavia, but has longer Heisman odds. But, he’s having an impressive season under center for the Aggies and they are 11-0 and on the doorstep of locking up a CFP spot.
This year, Reed has 2,752 yards, 25 touchdowns, eight interceptions and a 61.8% completion percentage. He also has 395 rushing yards and six rushing touchdowns.
6. Gunner Stockton, QB – Georgia (+4,000)
Stockton had a lot of Heisman buzz earlier this season, but that’s slowed a bit now. Still, UGA is in position for the playoff and he’s been very good as a junior.
The numbers don’t stack up to the top five, but you’d take that for your QB nonetheless. This year he has 2,465 yards, 19 touchdowns, four interceptions, a 71.4% completion percentage, 361 rushing yards and eight rushing touchdowns.
7. Jacob Rodriguez, LB – Texas Tech (+15,000)
Rodriguez is the lone defender in the top 10 of the Heisman Trophy odds. There’s been a push from Texas Tech to get him some more buzz, and you can see why!

He’s been really impressive, but still a long shot to win the award. This year, he has 100 tackles, 9.5 tackles for loss, one sack, four interceptions, six pass deflections, two fumble recoveries, seven forced fumbles and an offensive touchdown!
8. Jeremiah Smith, WR – Ohio State (+25,000)

Smith might be the best WR in college football, but he’s still a long shot to win the Heisman this year. Maybe next year as a junior!
Still, he’ll be key if the Buckeyes are to repeat as national champions over the next two months. This year, he has 69 catches for 902 yards, 10 touchdowns and 13.1 yards per catch. He’s on pace to catch or pass his freshman year numbers.
9. Jayden Maiava, QB – USC (+30,000)
There were some questions if Maiava could live up to certain billing as USC’s QB this year. Well, he has for the 8-3 Trojans.
It’s just not his time for the Heisman, maybe next year! But he’s been impressive in Lincoln Riley’s system: 3,174 yards, 21 touchdowns, eight interceptions and a 65.7% completion percentage.
10. Haynes King, QB – Georgia Tech (+30,000)
If King had any shot at the Heisman, it might’ve been erased after Georgia Tech was upset by Pitt on Saturday. But it doesn’t erase how good King has been for the Yellow Jackets.
The CFP and ACC title game are still a possibility even if dwindling, so he’ll have to turn it around fast against Georgia this week. This year, King has 2,516 yards, 12 touchdowns, four interceptions, a 71.8% completion percentage, 883 rushing yards and 15 rushing touchdowns.
