Indiana reels in commitment from in-state TE target Trevor Gibbs

Crown Point (Ind.) Hight tight end/linebacker Trevor Gibbs committed to Indiana on Wednesday, choosing the Hoosiers over Iowa.
Commit No. 8 for head coach Curt Cignetti and his staff in the 2026 cycle, the 6-foot-4, 235-pound Gibbs will play offense in Bloomington.
“It’s a great place to get developed and the coaches bring a great mindset and energy,” Gibbs has said in the past.
Gibbs also strongly considered Boston College and Purdue among others. He is tabbed by the On3 Industry as the No. 6 overall prospect in the state.

In-state recruiting has picked up for Cignetti and company in the 2026 cycle. They hold a commitment from the No. 1 prospect within the border in Indianapolis (Ind.) Decatur Central On300 cornerback Kasmir Hicks. They also picked up a recent verbal from Franklin (Ind.) Community defensive lineman Blake Smythe.
Beyond Gibbs, the Hoosiers are trending for the state’s No. 3 recruit in former Penn State receiver commit Jerquaden Gillford. Greenwood (Ind.) Center Grove defensive lineman Kobe Cherry and Hammond (Ind.) Morton offensive tackle Cameron Miller are two more they’re at or near the top of the list for.
