Italian point forward Maikcol Perez commits to Baylor

Italian prospect Maikcol Perez has committed to Baylor, he told On3.
The 6-foot-8 point forward most recently played for Basket Bassano in the Italian Serie C and in the U18 League.
Playing with the Italy U17 National Team in the World Cup in 2024, Perez averaged 14.6 points, 8.6 rebounds and 4.3 assists per game.
Perez, who turns 18 in December, took an official visit to Nebraska last year, and completed Zoom meetings with Cincinnati and Miami (previous staff).

Perez is ranked as the 41st best prospect in the 2025 class, according to On3’s Top-150 Player Rankings. He’s also the No. 9 ranked power forward.
Scott Drew and Baylor underwent a complete overhaul this offseason after losing all of their players to either graduation, the NBA Draft, or the transfer portal. Perez is their eighth commitment since the season ended. Here is a full list of players headed to Waco next season.
