Just before halftime Saturday afternoon, Kent State and No. 7 Florida State entered a weather delay. Lightning was detected in the area, leading to the pause in action.

Per Florida State, the weather delay will serve as halftime. The second quarter will conclude after the delay.

The Seminoles are well on their way to opening the season with a 4-0 record, as they lead the Golden Flashes 35-7 at the break. Kent State cut it to a 14-7 deficit thanks to a 75-yard passing touchdown from quarterback Dru DeShields to receiver Da’shawn Martin with eight minutes remaining in the first quarter, but the ‘Noles have rattled off 21 unanswered to make it 35-7.

More importantly, FSU quarterback Tommy Castellanos was apparently shaken up just before the delay. after throwing a pass, Castellanos was rolled up on by multiple defenders. Per Warchant.com, he walked with a slight limp to the locker room.

Prior to his exit, Castellanos was enjoying another big outing on Saturday. He completed 10/13 passes for 205 yards, no scores and one interception. He seemed well on his way to the first 300-plus passing yard performance of his career.
