Kentucky, Louisville separated at midfield before Governor's Cup
Kentucky and Louisville players were separated at midfield before the Governor’s Cup Saturday Safe to say, there was no love lost for these rivals.
Going into today’s game, the Wildcats are 5-6 and need a win to become bowl eligible. For the Cardinals, they’re 7-4 and look to end the regular season on a high note.
But of course, the rivalry between Kentucky and Louisville is real for this in-state matchup. The drama, as seen below, started before kickoff.
Depleted by injuries, Louisville is limping to the finish line. The Cardinals will be without multiple starting players. Question marks surround the quarterback position about who will line up under center. After giving up 38 points to SMU last week, the defense needs to put that game behind them, as echoed throughout the program.

“It’s a big game for all of us,” head coach Jeff Brohm said of the Kentucky-Louisville game. “I think our team will have a good week of practice. We’ll get our guys ready to go. Sometimes, when you face a loss, it’s not very fun, but you learn from it quickly, pick up the pieces, and move on.”
Kentucky might take advantage of Louisville’s QB carousel, due to an injury to Miller Moss. As Brohm said: “We’re going to try and get Miller healthy … I could see multiple quarterbacks possibly playing,” it could be a wild affair.
Kentucky and Louisville are set for a 12:00 p.m. ET kickoff Saturday. Louisville plays host this season.
