Las Vegas releases updated College Football Playoff national championship odds

There will be college football games this month and Las Vegas oddsmakers are hard at work updating the odds for the top contenders to win the College Football Playoff national title in 2023.

While Alabama remains at the top of the list, over the last month, Ohio State has gained momentum and pushed past the reigning champions, the Georgia Bulldogs.

Behind those three programs, only three others have legitimate claims at potentially hoisting the title trophy at this time of year. The Clemson Tigers, Texas A&M Aggies and USC Trojans are still trying to re-enter the championship conversation. Also, previously outside the top 10, the Texas Longhorns are now amongst the top contenders despite a 3-6 finish to Big-12 play in 2021.

Some teams that just missed the top-25 cut were Nebraska (+13500), UCLA (+15100) and Iowa (+15000).

Week 0 games begin on Aug. 27 while most programs hit the field for the first time on Sept. 3. There is a full season of upsets, big plays and controversies ahead before two teams play for a national title on Jan. 9 in Los Angeles.
