Highly-recruited 2025 prospect Meghan Yarnevich commits to Georgia
Top 2025 recruit Meghan Yarnevich has committed to Georgia, she announced on Thursday evening.
Yarnevich, a 6-foot-2 power forward from Potomac (MD) The Bullis School, chose the Bulldogs over Georgia Tech, Cal, Georgetown, Pittsburgh and St. John’s after her official visit from Sept. 6-8.
“Coach Abe [Katie Abrahamson-Henderson], the head coach, she’s just all about intensity, hard work, and about pure hustle,” Yarnevich told On3. “That’s the player I am. I love the coaching staff. It’s an all-female staff and everyone’s nice, everyone’s hard-working like me, and it just was a great environment. The Georgia community was very tight-knit, and everyone was all about Georgia. The coach believed in me. I was nervous about playing in Georgia, but she believed in me, so I just knew.”
The relationships alongside the play style at Georgia were key reasons for Yarnevich’s decision.
“They run a lot,” Yarnevich said. “They do a lot of work. They’re just saying that you’ve got to keep fighting through the work. Every girl is yelling, every girl is running, every girl is all in…everyone’s cheering for each other. Everyone loves each other.”

Georgia has been on Yarnevich’s mind for a while and they made a great first impression from phone calls to eventually hosting her on campus.
“Georgia was super incredible,” Yarnevich said in a previous interview. “When I walked in, they had multiple practice facilities and weightlifting rooms and courts. It was really big. The facilities are one of the best I’ve ever seen. They’ve also had multiple players reach a high level and they know what they’re doing. Everyone who went there pours their heart and soul into Georgia. It was incredible to be in that atmosphere because everything was just so new and big. The community aspect of it was awesome.”
Yarnevich still has one more season of high school, but she’s beyond excited to be a Bulldog.
“I’m excited to be playing SEC ball — playing at home games. I’m going to be working really hard to hopefully play. It’s just everything.”
